Guest guest
, welcome to the list. As I read your posts, your story sounded more and more familiar to me. Finally, I realized I remembered you from way back when. Your mom () was one of the first parents to contact me in Missouri - long before there were conferences, the list or a CHARGE Syndrome Foundation She also helped me do a day-long presentation at Helen Keller National Center in 1994 (she was presenting on cued speech)! At the time, you were in a college prep program at Gallaudet - and we were told your interests included working with young deaf children. I think you were at the Boston CHARGE conference in 1997 with your mom, where she again did a presentation on cued speech. I didn't know you had gotten a cochlear implant! It is so wonderful to hear from you again and hear how well you are doing. I can't believe I have done this (CHARGE stuff) for so long that all these wonderful kids have grown up. We have lost touch with many, as they go off and make their way in the world. We on the list are all so pleased when someone like you " comes back " and shares your life with us. Please say hello to your mom for me! Meg
