Guest guest
Hi everyone! We've arrived home safe & sound from Deaf Camp; WHAT A WEEK! The first couple of days were more challenging than I expected: getting used to the routine and dealing with a bit of bad weather early on and figuring out how to effectively integrate Kennedy into all the activities; however, by Tuesday we were into it full swing and ended up having a WONDERFUL time! I can't say enough about everyone involved with the camp: from the kitchen staff to the camp directors, the interpreters, my fellow counsellors, the people from the Elks and the Royal Purple - everyone involved was just so helpful and accomodating, it was a great experience. The campers were so sweet and a lot of them really did their best to take the little ones under their wing and include them; as a bonus, I had a good week of sign language immersion also! I wanted to share the photos I took (over 300 but I only uploaded about 100 or so of the best ones)...so, if you're interested, they are at: http://photobucket.com/albums/b48/deafcamp/ (I didn't think emailing that many photos to the NB/PEI Elks web site was a good idea -- please feel free to share the link with any of the campers or other interested folks!!!) Okay, off to do some much needed laundry...cheers & love to all, & Kennedy Home: lisaweir@... Work: lisa.weir@...
