Lindsey, I may not be the right person to tell you what to do, but it sounds

like needs to freakin GROW UP! How in the world did she ever get to

be a trainer? I would certainly email and let her know what is

going on and how you feel. You have been told it is okay to do that, so I'd

let her know. Ask yourself...how much do I want this job? I'm going

through some pretty nasty stuff at the PD right now and I've taken about all

the fecal material I can. For 7 years I've put up with more than I have in

the other 33 years in workplaces because I love my work. You'll notice I

said WORK and not JOB. (It ain't paranoia if they're really out to get you)

It's time to quit putting up with and go to and plead for

another trainer if you really want to stay. I don't know how strictly they

enforce chain of command at your place - at ours it is like the Holy Grail.

Only you know how much more you can take and how far you can go to correct

it, so take any suggestions as attempts to help without being on the scene.

It's up to you, but I have learned that there comes a time when you just

have to say " ENUF!!!

said it well - it sounds absolutely horrid where you are. As I read

your message it reminded me of my first dispatch job -- which I knew in 6

months was an experience right out of Dante's inferno and then took me another

18

months to escape from. Not that where I work now is a slice of heaven, but

its a heck of a lot better. (Part of the problem where I work now is what I

think a lot of California agencies are experiencing -- the budget is making it

hard on all the cities and working short staffed cause there's just not

enough money to hire even one additional person).

But seriously, your experience sounded exactly like what the third trainer I

had at my first job was like. She so soured me on the agency it wasn't even

funny.

There's other agencies ..... start applying.

Ok I ll play the devils advocate.. First off I am not calling you a

liar. Just to clear the air. We are only hearing one side of the

story unless I am missing somethig. Often times I am also consider a

big jerk while training. Its a job I believe is very important and

sometimes it seems as the trainier is being harsh. I will say that

in the years I have been doing this things have cheanged for the

better. I remeber being in training as well and really not liking my

trainer either. But I have seen some intresting things in the years

past, trainees being hit, endless yelling, gossip and hazing. I

believe its gotten better over the years, but it is still a very

difficult job to train new people. And sometimes feelings get hurt.

Remeber you are being trained to be a partner and to do a difficult

and very improtant job. Good Luck
