Yep, just what we need, another collective black eye. This was the first tidbit

of news I heard on TV this morning. Kinda makes the guy who fell asleep while

taking the call look tame. We had a long talk at our center today about this and

why we do random drug testing to maintain a drug free workplace certification.

If nothing else, we can use some of these incidents as examples of inappropriate

behavior.

Other than the obvious issues raised, one of my first questions was " How can

they afford cocaine on a dispatcher's salary? "

I printed out the news story and we passed it around last night. It was QUITE

the topic of conversation!!!!

Yeah, that came up more than once--it was the first thing I wondered!!! I guess

they were on lots of mandadatory o.t.? LOL Otherwise, I want one of the

now-vacant slots, if they're making THAT much!!!

This incident is just a few towns away from where I work... it has gotten quite

a bit of air time up here too, obviously. It's even more sad because Lawrence

isn't exactly a white collar community, and they are sincerely trying to change

their image. As the mayor said, stuff like this does NOT help!

Yes I agree it is very sad and incidents like this smear US

ALL.......Also....now it opens the door to the expectation of using cameras in

the dispatch

center because of a few who cant be trusted.

Now some of us really have more work cut out for us.....

(if some of you can remember the cam in dispatch debate we had a few mos ago)
