Also better late than never!

Name - Sue Holden nee Ollerenshaw, also Seeyoooo, Susie (but only by my mother),

Oi you, and muuuuuuuuuuuum but never (I like the name but it makes me

think

I have done something wrong).

Living arrangements - me and Emma, and sometimes DH Simon, Sifa and Skye the

cats

and a part time dawg, Penny.

Favourite TV show? - Where to start... Buffy, X-Files, Angel, Stargate, Star

Trek DS9, Voyager, ER, Friends, but as they all run on different seasons I only

have one or two programmes a week to watch.

What's on your mouse pad - Tweety Pie in a shower - scary

Favourite magazine? - New Gen (really), New Internationalist, Computer Active.

Don't do womens magazine's but do buy any baby/parenting magazines with

breastfeeding in just to check them out!

Favourite smells? - the smell just before it starts to rain, freshly mown grass,

the smell of a breastfed baby after a feed.

Worst feeling in the world? - finding out I was miscarrying (only time I have

been truly hysterical)

Best feeling in the world? - finding out I was pregnant, both times, and that

feeling you get when you watch your child sleep.

What is the first thing you think of in the morning? - Oh bugger, we're late!

Do you get motion sickness? Yes in the back of cars, no when I'm driving.

Roller coasters - cool or scary? - way cool, the bigger and faster the better.

Pen or pencil? - keyboard

Favourite foods - egg mayonnaise sandwiches made with warn eggs and fresh

homemade bread.

Chocolate or vanilla? - vanilla - chocolate icecream doesn't taste like

chocolate

and I like mine unadulterated.

Storms - cool or scary? - used to be scary but now I have had to put on a brave

face for Emma they are OK? DH loves them and opens the windows and doors when

there is a thunder storm so he can get best effect!

what type was your first car? - Citroen 2CV, orange with an Adam and the Ants

logo painted on the drivers door - I got noticed!

Is the glass half full or half empty - depends who I am speaking too, if it is

DH

then definately half empty because his glass is always overflowing, but if I

talk

to branches etc my glass is definitely half full.

Favourite snack? - food

Lefty, righty or ambidextorous? - Lefty, but use scissors right handed and play

the clarinet right handed

Do you type with your fingers on the right keys? - when I concentrate but I am

fast anyway.

What's under your bed? - this space saver vacuum bags full of bed linen, stuffed

toys and duvets (and empty anywayup cups, half pairs of shoes, and probably a

cat!)

my midwife's got lost as well, do tell more I'm sure everybody knows my

and , I appear to have both your birth stories in my " reserve

birth story " newsletter file. Think I got them at one time from

Horn's website??? Reason I saved them is because one day I plan to do a

feature about unattended delivery in the newsletter (am waiting the birth

story of a close friend and branch member who had an unattended delivery a

year ago), and I keep meaning to ask you both whether I can use them. Can

I?

Pharmacist couldn't find anything for my 2 year old (though I'm sure there

is something because DS2 was under 3 when we first went to France and I gave

him a half tablet of something). Suggested Phenergan.

Boots own brand OK while breastfeeding.

When we went on a ferry when I was pg there was nothing I could take IIRC.

I wore sea bands and was queasy but not sick.

If only it were that interesting! I'm afraid it is a really sad reason. My

mum bought me several jars of said sauce as I love it, but they were very

near the sell by. She cross examined me daily to find out if I'd eaten it.

Last time she visited, I realised that there was still one left, and that

she would moan incessantly about me not eating it, and not appreciating it

etc, so I sneaked it out and was able to hide it. Tragic, isn't it?

>And is your chocolate cake mixture a secret or will you tell us

> how to make it?! I love chocolate cake......

> ina

I've already explained the sauce, and as for the cake, it's not that secret.

Here goes if you're interested.

300g of margarine, 300g of sugar, mix thoroughly,

4 eggs, add bit by bit, and whisk thoroughly.

fold in 300g of self raising flour and about 3 tbs of cocoa powder. Divide

into 3 tins

and cook for 20 mins at 200.

When cool, soak the cakes in chocolate liquer, and put in fridge. When cold,

add chocolate mousse between on elayer (home made if you're feeling keen,)

and chocolate butter cream in the other. Coat the whole lot with melted

choccie - very good quality dark chocolate and fridge it very quickly -

otherwise it all melts. I've put on a stone just thinking about it. Have

alos got another recipe for very moist gooey choccie cake if you're

interested - my nan's recipe!

So cut it up and spend your money with me!! Seriously I was very chuffed

that what we in have in our shop and also what London has to offer as a

shopping destination for fashion stacked up really well against NY. I found

some labels we stock and they were much more expensive. I was expecting to

be blown away by the stores and it just didn't happen. I did love all the

galleries & art though. We were there 9-16 April.

Someone else ( sorry I deleted the email by mistake ) wrote in response to

few months and saw some crackers

Where in the alps?

Murren. Amazing location, only reached by train or hike - no cars. Did a

summer season as a barmaid in the Hotel Murren in 1984.

He he he - much to my disgust DH got MY name wrong on DS2 birth certificate.

( He spelt my middle name instead of Clare)..he'd forgotten what it

was in the 14 months since I'd had DS1!!! I was so cross but ummed and

ahhed about doing anything about it for ages (after all it was a bit

irrelevant, but I felt irritated everytime I thought about it). I did

eventually, and they just crossed it out on the original and initialled it.

Pah !!!!

My poor grandmother (nana to me) was the youngest of five daughters to a

trawler

captain. He set off to register her birth with no idea what to call her

...........

until someone bawled out of an upstairs tenement window " Gladys!!!! "

Even worse, he told her when she was older how she got her name.

Explains a lot

about my Nana - she was a bitter, nitpicking woman.

One thing I love is that they have whole floors devoted to larger

sizes - and really nice clothing. Loads of names available in thin

sizes also do fat sizes so quality fashionable clothing is available.

However, coming back I declared my major purchase - 30% Vat and duty

is not funny on what was already an expensive purchase! But I do love

my new dress, even if I don't have anywhere to wear it to for four

months!

I love the atmosphere over there though. And my absolute favourite

thing - the carousel in Central Park - best dollar I ever spent!

If I win the lottery <dream mode on> I'll buy an apartment there! As

well as one in London. City girl me!

The surname on Rob's birth certificate is Orders. McVeigh is his

stepfather's surname and Rob changed by deedpoll at age 16 (hence passport

etc all in McVeigh and yes I am really a McVeigh).

When I registered 's birth, I mentioned this to the registrar,

she said it was not relevant, hence " Orders " does not appear on

's birth certificate. This suited me as we have no real contact

with Rob's natural father, and I like to think of his step father as his

" real " father, and my children's " real " Grandad.

When I registered Caitlin, I again mentioned it, same registrar, and she

insisted that Rob's birth surname had to go on her certificate. I pointed

out that it wasn't on her brother's, and she said " well his birth

certificate is invalid then " !!!! Worried that perhaps he had never actually

been officially born, I then asked how I would go about changing it. She

said " Oh I wouldn't bother too much about it "

I got my Bananas in Pyjamas mouse mat free when I brought the Dorling
