Guest guest
Thank you for asking. Some of the fires have been contained, but the biggest one is still going (since July 13) and is so massive it is beyond comprehension. President Bush arrives tomorrow and will be driving through our little town on his way to see the area of one of the fires that was put out earlier in the summer. These fires are very near the coast now and there have been more fires since then with some still active. We have not had any rain yet but it has cooled down, which is helping them considerably. -- Re: Cats, was Procedure note I have indoor-only cats, too. They sit on their carpet-covered cat tree and watch squirrels & birds all day. They talk to the things outside the window -- a kind of " chcchchch-ackackackack " noise. It's hilarious. (: My husband asks the cats if they are watching " Bird TV " and " Squirrel TV. Guest guest
The thing is we both do the same work so it is far from a distraction. We have 4 ears between us. Nothing much gets by us. Guest guest
My cats make that noise at birds too. I've always called it " barking at the birds. " The way their whiskers quiver and the extended, staccato meow they do kinda sounds like " barking " to me. I guess I'm " one brick short of a load " along with the others eh? hehe. Guest guest
Hi Cat Lovers, I have a 14-year-old male who is a study in himself. We had a 17-year-old female cat when he appeared on the windowsill in the middle of a snowstorm. He talked and acted pretty normal (for a cat) until she died. He has not uttered a meow since then. He also goes and eats whenever we come home or if he gets mad (just like the rest of us). He was strictly an indoor cat for 14 years. Then about a month ago we started letting him out a little bit at a time -- chaperoned, of course. He started getting braver and braver, so since I live on a busy street I decided he needed to be on a harness and leash in order to be outside. I did not think he would like this -- but, tough, he would get used to it. Well, not a problem - -he took to it right away with no problem at all. He now goes for a daily constitutional. He is just like a dog in that he knows when we come home and greets us, he will open the door once you unlock it. He is not interested in any birds -- except for the ones that could eat him, as in magpies and crows. He is not afraid of dogs or any other living animal. He does not like to be alone at all -- he stays glued to my son when he is here -- but, if it is just me he will come into the computer room and sleep near me. I better go now, the computer died this morning so had to take it in and they fixed it -- added 512 MB ram, so now have 720 MB and they optimized it so I am not using soo... many resources when I boot up. I do internet and my sound card was not working -- at least, I could not hear anything. Keep your fingers crossed that I am ready to go now TFL (thanks for listening) Gai ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Upgrade Outlook® - Add COLOR to your Emails Outlook® is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation

Guest guest
The internet cable guy came out yesterday and worked on my slow cable connection and told us about a free download called RamBooster at www.download.com. He said it keeps your ram cleaned up and he has not had to reboot his computer for a year. My hubby downloded it and we'll see, but you have to configure it to each computer. Somerhing I know nothing about. But just will pass it along since it may be helpful. val Re: Cats, was Procedure note Hi Cat Lovers, I have a 14-year-old male who is a study in himself.
