Guest guest
Hi, I'm , mother to 4yo (mod-severe loss) and Makarius 2yo. I'm glad to find this site for info. was diagnosed at 3 1/2 with sensorineural hearling loss and has been aided for 1 year. His language ability was very limited and has had vast improvement and speaks well now. He uses a microlink phonak FM in school that we bought for him. I'm concerned that his school program is somewhat deficient. He was placed into a self-contained language program full-day with other children with speech deficits only. He is the only hearing-impaired child in his school. Although he made wonderful progress, the only person in the class that spoke well was the teacher who is also a speech pathologist. He did hear her correcting and using speech applications with the other children, but their speech is limited as well. This year we are considering a private pre-school with public school speech therapy. However, the speech therapy will only be offered twice a week, and another child will have to schare the session with him. Am I getting the run-around? Is this the best option?
