strep isn't a virus its bacteria, but yes there is a connection to mulitpule things like that, that the body can't fight, look into lyme and you may be floored at how it all connects. my son is a PANDAS kid, has immune issues, I have an NT daughter with joint issue and immune issues my son just tested possitive to lyme and MOST interesting was that the BANDS that came back possitive pointed to his inability to fight strep......my eyebrows raise.....the connection. I was exposed and hospitlized from lyme when doing missions in europe 6 months before I got prego

I wonder if there's something about having a herpes-type virus that can cause the body to have a difficult time handling strep? Or vice-versa? I have a cousin, now a young adult - who lives symptom-free of the tourettes, ocd and adhd that plagued him as a child. Everytime I see the word "PANDAS" I can't help but think of him and I'm almost convinced he suffered from it. My younger daughter's weakness when not feeling well is strep throat. And Christel pointed out signs of strep that I had not considered. Also, the more I make connections between my son, my nephew, me, my sister, and my mom, it screams "virus" big time. Crazy, interesting stuff.

Also, you should probably check the DAN site (www.autism.com) as I'm sure they have lots of info on herpes related issues. I haven't dug around on that site in a very long time but it's a good place to look.

Ok, my clever little sleuths, I need your help. My sister has been biomedically treating my asd nephew for 2 years now and while he's made some really nice gains, she feels in her heart that she's missing something. Because her and her son both get cold sores (her on the inside of her mouth ...they are different than canker sores) and the way he does not sweat (thyroid has been checked as it is a prevelent problem in our family) , chelation hasn't been effective and as a baby, he had a convulsive reaction to mmr (that's when he lost his language and began to slip away), I suggested that she may want to ask her dan to test for hhv6. Aside from the symptoms (which I feel ought to be enough, she needs some good evidence to give to her dan when she asks. I'm looking around for some good publications. In the mean time, if anyone has anything good in their files, could you pass it along this way? Thanks so much for any little bit you may be able to offer-Tammy
