Great point, - I think we get much too wrapped up in everything else

and don't take the time we need, I have a big problem with that!!

taking care of ourselves

I'm going to jump in on the discussion about handling the stress of caring

for our CHARGE children.

I know that I get very wrapped up and intent on providing the best care I

can find for Karlee. She hasn't had any life threatening experiences in

recent years, however just the schedule is so intense. In the last month

she has had 25 appointments/therapies.

There has been lots of discussion recently about cranial sacral therapy

for our children. The therapist I take Karlee to would not treat her until

she did the treatment on me. It was so wonderful. I noticed a huge

difference in how my body has handled stress since then. I am a lot calmer

in handling medical and educational issues for Karlee.

It is important for us parents to take care of ourselves in order to do a

good job taking care of our children. As you know big obstacles are time

and money.

I was just thinking last night how much I wish I had time for an appt

with the CST when we go for Aubrie's treatment today. But we have to

leave right away for her hair appt so that can't happen. And it seems

so costly to do 2 appts back to back. However, the next time Aubrie

wants to finish early or something, perhaps I'll take the rest of her

time. Or I will schedule myself a session when she's in school and on a

regular less frequent schedule of her own.
