Guest guest
Marilyn and all of you who have kids using sign language..... Andy recently received the technology you spoke about. He no longer needs his TTY because he just received a free videophone from Sorenson Media. It allows him to communicate directly to a certified interpreter via videocam (videophone). Andy sits in front of a tv monitor with videophone on top, which is connected via to the computer to high speed cable and can carry on a conversation with either another person with similar technology or through a certified sign language interpreter. It speeds up a phone conversation immensely. Imagine how long a TTY print out would be with the tty operator going through the operator menu selections calling Best Buy!!! THAT doesn't happen with the video relay. Check it out at: http://www.s-vision.com/ Best of all, this is available free to people who are deaf. It is paid for by the additional fees we pay on our phone bill. Andy also has a pager - Motorola because the print size on the Sidekick is too small to read. I think it has improved his english, so it might be a good learning tool for . My daughter is harassing me to get off the computer, so adios:-) Sally
