Guest guest Posted June 8, 2004 Report Share Posted June 8, 2004 Hello everyone, The Office of Rural Community Affairs (Office) is announcing the availability of the Rural Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Enhancement Grant Program. This program is created to support the development and improvement of rural EMS response, delivery, and service capacity. The request for funding for any project or combination of projects must be at least $3,000 and must not exceed $9,000. ELIGIBLE / ALLOWABLE ACTIVITIES ·Provide initial EMT-B or ECA to EMT-B training to rural responders ·Provide certification from EMT-B to EMT-I to rural responders ·Provide certification from EMT-I to EMT-P to rural responders ·Provide certification from EMT-B to EMT-P to rural responders ·Provide instructor training courses for CPR, ACLS, BTLS, PHTLS, PALS, PEPP, SLAM, or other TDH-approved certification courses ·Provide courses for CPR, ACLS, BTLS, PHTLS, PALS, PEPP, SLAM, or other TDH-approved certification courses (cannot be part of certification training in objective 1) ·Purchase and/or installation EMS training equipment ·Purchase and/or installation EMS communications equipment Eligible applicants must be located in a Texas non-metropolitan statistical area (non-MSA), as defined by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) )You can find this on page 11 in the application) For the purpose of this program, " rural " refers to OMB's non-MSA and " urban " refers to MSA. Eligible applicants include: ·Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) ·Rural hospitals with fewer than 50 licensed beds ·Rural EMS Providers Organization (Paid or Volunteer) ·Rural First Responder Organizations ·Rural Fire Departments-Based EMS (Paid or Volunteer) ·Rural TDH-approved training facilities (Training facilities which are not EMS providers are not eligible to apply for communication equipment) IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT NOT EVERY APPLICATION WILL BE FUNDED. ELIGIBLE IN TEXAS ONLY. An application can be downloaded from the ORCA website June 9, 2004 at www.orca.state.tx.us click on NEW ITEMS on the top of the homepage. Do you know the rules about this?
