Guest guest
Cheri, Dehydration can set it far quicker than one can ever imagine. So do be careful when you have the flu. Gatorade is a good rehydrator for normal people. I remember having the flu once and got very dehydrated and doc said to use the gatorade--wow--what a difference. You can also use your own homemade solution of 1 pt of juice of some kind and 1/4 tsp. salt and pinch of baking soda and sip it. This was from a book we got when we took a safari to Kenya---yes we did that in 1991 the year my husband retired from teaching (2nd job farming). And.....are we glad we did. It was wonderful and now neither one of us can travel. I got sick over there---turned out to be a parasite I picked up somehow which was easily eradicated with antibiotics--and this solution really helped. Yesterday 71 degrees and so balmy. Today probably 30, cloudy and snow to begin! It's still winter!! Lelia from volatile weatherwise Colorado
Guest guest
Hi Lelia, It wasn't that I wasn't drinking enough...I constantly had something to drink. My doc said that I was just too small to possibly hold enough fluids to get me well. And they said that the flu made you pee a lot and that was flushing all the liquids I was drinking out too quickly....That was why I was so surprised....because I was drinking liquids constantly. Thanks for the recipe..We try to never run out of gatoraide at this house...but Im sure if we did I would use that recipe! God Bless and Take care ~Cheri > Cheri, Dehydration can set it far quicker than one can ever imagine. So do be careful when you > have the flu. Gatorade is a good rehydrator for normal people.
