I found a post from Patti about the carrot juice and garlic regimen.

I remember reading something on the list some months ago..... that one

parent felt that the prescription anti-fungals had the down side of

having the yeast come back after stopping them. I know that

Tamaro says the absolute best anti-fungal she has ever used (and she's

tried all the prescription ones with her boys) is fresh carrot juice

with fresh raw garlic in it. She juices up a batch of carrot juice and

puts one clove of fresh garlic crushed into it.... includes the pulp.

She says her boys love it and drink it down. I am not positive but I

think she said to have them drink 4 oz of the juice twice a day for at

least a few weeks. I know you said you've already done garlic before

but since that was pre-SCD, maybe this would be worth a shot.

's kids' dysbiosis tests have come back phenomenally better

after a year on SCD and doing the carrot juice.

I searched back on this list an found her remedy, posted sometime in

January:

It is to give 4 of fresh pressed carrot juice with 1 clove of

crushed garlic in each 4 oz of juice, twice a day with food.

I doubt very much that my son will drink carrot juice as he does not

like carrots. But just today, I began the garlic regimen by slicing

a garlic clove into thin strips, crushing each stip gently with the

side of a knive, and inserting the strips into a large empty capsule

twice a day with breakfast and dinner. Becasue my son has pretty

darned resistant yeast, I am going to rotate the garlic every 4 days

with other natural antifungals so the yeast will be less likely to

become resistant to it.

I will recheck the Organic acid test in 6-8 weeks, and pray we

finally get a clean OAT. I read that arabinose is very nasty stuff

and can cause permanent brain damage - that's not waht I needed to

hear.

If you are going to put raw garlic in a capsule, please be sure it is

crushed to smithereens. There have been cases of people with Crohn's who

have done this with chunks of raw garlic and they suffered obstructions.

crushed to smithereens. There have been cases of people with Crohn's who

have done this with chunks of raw garlic and they suffered obstructions.
