Guest guest
I have a wrong fax story, too. Rick spent 2 hours on the phone with AETNA trying to find out why they haven't paid the anesthesiologist for me yet (how do you have surgery without one, I might ask). He also wanted to find out the status of his application. Well, after being passed around several times, he finally got a really helpful woman who got down and did some research. Come to find out, someone at AETNA, when we joined 7 years ago, put in the wrong number of some sort, and it looks like we are in the region that includes Connecticut, rather than the southeastern region where we live. Because of that, we periodically get knocked out as not having a PCP selected and other types of problems that cause claims to be processed incorrectly. So we got that corrected. But we also found out that the fax number that they gave Rick to fax stuff to was wrong, and this time he got the right number and Dr R has already sent the stuff again. But the big kicker is that the phone number for precertification that is printed on our insurance cards is the WRONG NUMBER!!! Can you believe it? Of course you can. All of us know how this type of bureaucracy works. Katy

Guest guest
I feel your frustration Katy...... Hey I have a question for you POST ops out there.....Help me if you can. Anybody file for short term disability? I have this benefit with the City. (I am an employee of theirs from time to time, whenever I'm not emailing you guys.) I don't have enough sick time to cover me for the entire period that I will be out. I have heard from you guys that most of you are back to work within 2 weeks... Am I correct? Anyway, I'm taking 4 weeks regardless. (It is well deserved and needed. I'm been doing a job built for (2) people for (2) years and that's (2) long.) Anybody else file for any type of benefit like this? If so, Did Dr. R fill out the form or did your PCP? Anybody file for FMLA to protect yourself? When working for the government, FMLA is about the safest thing you can do to protect yourself. da Charlotte, NC SD May
