Peggy, Hi, I have been on Aricept in the past. There are side effects. I had trouble sleeping when I was on it. Also hot flashes but both of these side effects I already had a problem with and it just made it worse but it did help with the memory. I feel like I am a pharmacy too. Everytime I go to the doctors (which I have to go the end of this month) to get refills on all my meds which he gives me 1 month and then a 3 months supply (4 months) so I don't have to go back unless I am having a problem. I have about 11 scripts and when I get them all refilled the pharmacy people just look at me like "wow"!!!! They all know me, my husband and my oldest son as they are usually the ones to pick up my scripts. As far as going on a plane with all your meds. Sorry to say that you have to have them all in the bottle in came in or if it's in a boc, the box too

unless it's an inhaler but sometimes it's good to have that box too. My husand is a diabetic and he has to bring needles (sharps) and all of his diabetic pump supplies along with his insulin. It's not been a problem as long as you tell them that you have sharps in your luggage and to be careful when going through security. They are used to it. The bottles and the boxes have to have your name on it along with the medication and also what it's used for and the of course, the doctor's name. All this information should be on the bottle or box already from your pharmacy. It's also good to have a note from your doctor on hand with a list of medications he/she is prescribing you and the dosage, etc. I personally, even though I have had so many scripts when I went to mexico, have never had a problem with security even though I brought all on a carry on, which they prefer so that there is no problems if

your luggage (checked) gets lossed. My husband has only had a problem with his pump. Many people are not familiar with the pump so they check it out thoroughly. I hope all this helped and may be too much information, sorry. I hope you enjoy your trip. Hugs, :)Peggy wrote: Hi All, I had my 2nd appt. with my new neuro yesterday and he put me

It shouldn't upset me but it did. My memory has really gotten so bad in the past year and a half I just hate it. It seems no matter how many lists or calendars or reminders or buzzers I have I still CRS!!!!! I was always the one who reminded everyone else and who NEVER needed a list. He also increased my dosage of Zoloft to 150mg. I feel like I am a walking(most days), talking pharmacy!!! Now we've added a new pill to the mix! He yelled at me because I told him I've been missing some of my Copaxone injections so anybody that was wondering about cutting back, my neuro gave me holy heck for it, lol!!!!! He also told me my right side is getting weaker. Of course it is, that's my dominate side! Some good news, I'm

leaving on vacation on the 12th with my sisters, nieces, and and not coming home until the 19th. We are flying to Ft. Lauderdale and then cruising to Belize and Cozumel and lastly to Key West. My Dad is treating and Me. I soooo need this break. I've been trying to talk my sisters into leaving me on a deserted island but so far nobody is going for it. I've gotten a prescription written out from the dr. saying that I need to take my Copaxone with me. Has anyone been on a plane recently with their meds? How do you handle your sharps container? Were you able to travel with just your script and your blue travel bag thingy? That's all I want to take, I don't want to carry the whole box of medicine with me, especially since I have to carry about 10 bottles of medicine too. We are carrying 2 pieces of luggage on with us and checking one big piece. The one big piece is being shared by all of us for all

our "treasures" we want to bring back with us!! Of course it will also hold all our bigger bottles of shampoo and other neccesities we couldn't fit into those tiny quart size bags of which I bought the wrong kind. I didn't get the brand name of Ziploc! For being so security minded, they have to inspect my cane, but I can get on with a seven inch screwdriver, a seven inch wrench or plier or any other seven inch kind of tool. Can anyone explain that to me??? Anyways, if anybody has any advice about the traveling abroad or info on the Aricept I would appreciate it. Thanks!! Hugs Peggy Peace, Love and Hugs, D. :)

Hi Peggy! I know whatcha mean by the memory problems.I use to be the

one everyone would say can you remind me and now im the one telling

everyone to remind me and please dont let me forget. In order to

remember it has to be written down in 3 places and told to someone

else.Arghhh.Sure sucks since my memory use to be great.I hope the

Aricept helps I have heard it is a good med but dont know first hand.Im

so excited for you to go on vacation!Have fun and relax. When I

traveled with my cane they just shook it and looked to make sure

nothing was inside.I got lucky with security and he searched my whole

purse of meds and read everysingle one wile looking at my ID.That took

about 15 mins.lol. Dont worry just be prepared and call the airport to

make sure nothing has changed.I had all my bath and body lotions and

sprays and they were brand new.I had no idea about the baggy things.

lol.I had to leave them at the airport and didnt think id get them

Peggy,

I fly with my Rebif all the time both here in the States and to Germany. Just

make sure you bring a letter from your doctor stating that you are on the medication.

I put mine in a small lunchbox which fits in my carry on luggage. I never check

my meds in case they lose my bags. I have had to show them once but that is it.

Most of the time it just goes right through the scanners.

Have a great time,

Connie B

For being so security minded, they have to inspect my cane, but I can get on with a seven inch screwdriver, a seven inch wrench or plier or any other seven inch kind of tool. Can anyone explain that to me???

Anyways, if anybody has any advice about the traveling abroad or info on the Aricept I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

Hugs

Peggy
