Sorry, I don't know about the cookies and molds, but I do know about ice cream. I haven't used that exact recipe, but I have a great ice cream maker I got at Target a couple of years ago - no ice and no salt. You just put the " body " of the maker in the freezer overnight. Then you take it out, put on the rest of the electric machine part and pour in the mixture. It turns itself for about 20 minutes. Yummy! I think the thing was about $35. If you could find one to borrow, that would be the best. When you use the maker it comes out more like creamy ice cream. When you just freeze the mixture, it is usually more icy and not creamy. > > Thanks so much, > Marissa > collin, 4.5 asd; scd since jan 1, 2004 > p.s. today I placed Collin's " rabbit soup " (chicken > soup with pureed carrots) in front of him with some > pears and he said " You are such a good mommy. This is what I love the most - these kinds of stories. Thank you for sharing! You can be called a good mommy all day by friends, daddy, listmates, etc. but nothing measures up to THAT! son - 5yo ASD, SCD 14 months
Guest guest
I've tried 3 of the standard cookie recipes from the website without a lot of success - by that I mean, they don't look like standard animal cookies, but taste great. I'm still trying to find a recipe that " flows " in order to pick up some of the shape details. I know it will have to be almond flour - the others were too coarse - my next attempt will be almond nut butter. Good luck and remember to post it if you find a good one! My son is very much into safari animals! Have you tried the blanched hazelnut flour from Digestive Wellness? It is very " flour " like - white and very finely ground. Also, can he eat peanut butter? I bake with it all the time. What about cashew butter? You might have to add more liquid of some sort to get the flow. I have no idea if these things would work, but wanted to float it out there in case you haven't tried it yet. son - 5yo ASD, SCD 14 months
Guest guest
Hi AMK, I use this recipe that gave me for " cookie press cookies " -- it might work in a mold. 2 1/2 c. almond flour 1 egg yolk 2 tbsp. butter (sub. if necessary) 1/3 c. honey 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cinnamon I combine these in a food processor and put in the cookie press. They work really well. Bake at 300 until browned around the edges. Sue (from Pickering) Mom to , 4.5, formerly?
