When Elaine used to participate on this list, she always told us NOT to listen

to Harry... or to give in to being pressured by him to buy products other than

the acidophilus. This has been going on for a long time..... he WILL try to sell

you other products. I remember someone even advising NOT to tell Harry that

you're even doing the SCD, because he has his very strong opinions..... but this

advise runs counter to SCD. The bifidum is definitely NOT SCD legal..... and the

others, Elaine would say are questionable. I guess it boils down to whether or

not you believe you should follow SCD strictly.... or whether you'd rather do

what Harry thinks is best. It can get pretty confusing when trying to listen to

several different points of view on diets, probiotics and other supplements.

Custom Probiotic Capsules vs Powder

Hi all:

I saw a post a few issues ago from a woman who was convinced by Harry at

Custom Probiotics and I, too, am under a lot of pressure from him to buy the

capsules rather than just the L Acidophilus powder recommended by

pecanbread. Someone asked what the strains are. The capsules have L.

Acidophilus, L.Rhamnosus,L. Plantarum, B. Longum and B. Bifidum.

He has a number of documents and a strong argument for including all the

strains in the capsule. His overall argument to me is that Custom Probiotic

designed this capsule mix to approximate the usual mix of healthy flora in

the gut.

I didn't see a response to this item so thought I would post as well, as I

am trying to make a decision. Does anyone know if Elaine or anyone has

spoken to him recently and/or why he is not correct? I know I recall seeing

that some information on Bifidum, but don't recall discussion on the other

strains.

Thanks, Melinda

I want to second the caution for when you order. Specifically ask

for the acidophilus - I told Harry that we were staring SCD and he

sent me the combo with the bifidum without mentioning that it wasn't

SCD.

Well, if that is not what you ordered... Why don't you call him and

have him straighten it out???
