Guest guest
Well folks, my 17 year old daughter just got the results of her Sleep Study back...the person administering the test said she was the youngest patient he had ever administered the test to. She stays chronically fatigued ( our PCP thinks she has a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Immunodeficiency Syndrome) sleeps poorly with all the resulting problems associated with sleep deprivation.....Hers is Sleep Apnea but with no obstruction, although she does have frequent sinus infections...... The results should help us streamline a treatment and hopefully get her back on her feet soon. I am still hoping to get her approved through our insurance company for the surgery with Dr. R. I know....I know....17 is way too young to be thinking about this option.....but let's face it, her gene pool sucks (both sides, maternal & paternal grandparents, & great grandparents even) she's doomed without the surgery to more years of hell and putting up with people not appreciating her intelligence, wit, charm, personality etc. because they can't get past her size 22 body. Back problems keep her from strenuous exercise, but even in Jr. High when she played Basketball, Volleyball, Softball and even flag football, she was still overweight. My losing weight has really been hard on her too. As of our last Dr.'s visit on 4-23 she only weighed 1/2 pound less than I did, although she is 2 inches taller. Prom was this past Sat. night and was a disaster. I'll try to scan Prom pictures when I get them back. If anybody wants the gory details I'll send them to you later....suffice to say she has decided that all members of the opposite sex, with the possible exception of her father who doesn't count, are jerks with a capital J. I don't want her to go through 20 more years of misery because of her size. I want her to be able to enjoy her last year of high school and college years health wise and weight wise. I can't help but believe that if we take care of the weight that most of the other health problems will clear up too. Talk more later.
