Guest guest
Could someone tell me where I find a list of foods that are high in salicyates? My son had 2 prunes this morning and within minutes was sneezing his head off, then became very spacey, lethargic like, goofy behaviors such as loud yelling, couldn't focus. etc... This has got to be one that is high! Also, are dates high as well? He seems to do the same thing on those. Also, does anyone know if salicyates affect those with fibromyalgia? Thanks! Guest guest
Well, I will send you a list, but also keep in mind that dried fruits have a high concentration of sugar as I understand it, and aren't recommended until later in the diet, so that could be affecting him, too. Both are also VERY HIGH in salicylates as well, if dried, and for that reason would send Luke well over the edge. It's hard to always know why certain things cause reactions. Here's the list though, for reference: http://users.bigpond.net.au/allergydietitian/fi/salicylates-list.html in NC Mom of Luke, age 5, Asperger's/low-salicylate; , age 3; and , 21 mos All SCD since 1/26/04 No Mom is an island. but sometimes she needs one! Hi Tina, My mother-in-law is following a very strict diet through a naturopath to cure her fibromyalgia. And YES, she has to stay away from ALL salicylates because they inhibit the uptake of the supplements he is giving her. Among those supplements are MSM and glucosamine. I don't know what else. Her diet is even MORE restrictive than SCD in some ways, yet she is allowed to have brown rice. Sue (From PIckering) Mom to , 4.5, formerly?
