Guest guest
We just got back our son's results from the urinary porphyrin test. We were surprised to see that our son was low/normal on all aspects. Is this something like the hair elements when a low/normal reading means the body is holding on to metals? My understanding is that it's a completely different mechanism, but I just wanted to ask anyway. Anyone have links/info on this? It's frustrating to be spending money on these tests only to have the results still be questionable! I know you can relate. Nanci
Guest guest
Maybe your son is one of the 40% or so of autistics who don't have methylation problems. Mine were 3-4 times normal. Guest guest
I disagree. My younger son had high metals on his hair AND provoked urine tests and his porphyrins test came out completely within normal range. My son definitely has metals issues regardless of what his porphyrin test said. Tests can be inaccurate and that is why it is important to get more than one. Guest guest
Here's an article that explains it by Dr. Rossignol. Thanks, , for reminding me about the article! http://www.icdrc.org/documents/Rossignol%20porphyrins%20medical%20veritas%202007\ ..pdf > > > > > > no this means your child doesn't have metal issue as as root of his issues > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
You can try a provocation test. We used metametrix. > false negatives for porphyrin tests? > > > > > > > > > > > > We just got back our son's results from the urinary porphyrin test. > > > We were surprised to see that our son was low/normal on all aspects. > > > > > > Is this something like the hair elements when a low/normal reading means the body is holding on to metals?
