Could you forward the doughnut recipe - we had a great one for CF/GF - and miss them! Also, would be easy to sneak things into. thanks Sara, mom to BEn, ASD, SCD for 5 days - I don't have donut pans, and I was wondering if I could just > cut them out into circles and deep-fat fry them. Guest guest
" I found a recipe for donuts, but you place them in the oven in donut pans. I don't have donut pans, and I was wondering if I could just cut them out into circles and deep-fat fry them. Anybody tried this? " I doubt it will work. The SCD donuts that I have made are cake like donuts and they wouldn't hold together to be cut into circles. They are the consistency of thick cake batter, nothing like a gluten-laden, yeast filled dough that can be rolled, cut and shaped. Sorry. Guest guest
I've never tried it, but my Mom used to make home-made donuts (fried) and they were absolutely heavenly, and not at all greasy. I think the tricky part is getting the oil just the right temperature. > > > I found a recipe for donuts, but you place them in the oven in donut > pans. Guest guest
I'm curious about the recipe too. What cook book? We are currently not doing sugar but this could be useful in the future. m.l.
