Hi all!

Listening to Tara's tale about the " size 3 show-biz moms " and thier " stuffed

after 2 bites of apple " comments makes me want to line them all up in a row

and " force them to partake " in an all-you-can-eat buffet.

For all the other weight challenged of us out there think about this: If

their metabolism is operating on after burner or their gene-pool pretty much

assures being obese is not in their future, then it takes no perserverance

or work on their part to stay skinny.

Now, which group has more right to be proud of winning even tiny battles

with the " Fat Monster " We should get a standing ovation just for

effort!!!!!

Dr. Rutledge,

By the way, I had gastric bypass 2 years ago. It was a written exclusion

from

my HMO's policy. I obtained letters from all of my Docs and wrote one

myself.

I hand delivered them straight to the medical director himself. They paid

for

every penny!! This particular HMO has since, approved many more although it

is still a written exclusion from their policy.

Thank you in advance for your time!

With the procedure Dr. R does, you can normally return to work after 2 weeks,

it is dependent on each person. I was ready to return, but had to be out for

six weeks due to having hernia repair done same week.... oh well.

Kimberley--

I was off work for 2 weeks, but I could have gone back part time the 2nd

week. I just decided to stay off since it was already arranged. I went out

most every day that week, even the end of the week after surgery on Monday.

Everyone is different, but I felt good enough to do just about anything I

wanted, within reason.

Can anyone who has had the surgery tell me about afterwards. I have heard

and read that you cannot return to work for several weeks but what about

taking a class for a couple of hours a day. Would a person be able to do

that?

I can only speak for myself, but i had surgery on a

Wednesday. By the following monday i resumed my job

which is an 8 hour job at a computer at home. So I

would expect you would be able to attend a class

pretty quickly, as long as you weren't carrying heavy

books.

I think a class a couple of hours a day would be no problem personally, but I

think everyone is different. I wouldn't have wanted to take a class that

first week! That's for sure! But after the first week it would be a piece

of cake...at least I think it would. :) Just my two cents...
