Sherry,

I know what you opened and that is okay. The thing you weren't supposed to open

is Happy99.exe it is a virus. The post that said don't open it didn't have

Happy99 with it. Don't worry you are safe. Just don't open Happy99, just

delete it.

Pam, I know how you feel about squeezing into places. I reached another

milestone today -- I was able to sit in a restaurant booth at lunch!

This might not be a problem for some of you, but this is the first time

in at least three years that I've been able to sit in a booth and not in

a chair at the end of the table.

Look Pam, if I can squeeze into a booth, you can probably fit on the

rides. Now, if you want to, that's another story! As far as the

walking, I think you'll surprise yourself by how well you'll do. Just

jump in there with a positive attitude that you're going to have a good

time, no matter what you can do!

Hang in there (Vortex or not)!

Amy,

I used to buy Hungry Man T.V. dinners and try to convince myself not to cook a

second one. Now I can't even eat 1/2 of a small Lean Quisine...what a change.

There are still times I could kill to be able to enjoy a thick steak, but I've

learned my lesson with Beef and almost all other meats for now. All things come

to those who weight (er, wait)! I have been able to walk by all the Easter

Candy and Chocolate Easter Bunnies at Wal-Mart without a twinge of desire, so

things are looking up! I can't wait to go clothes shopping at the After Easter

sales. I am almost naked (and the world's definitely not ready for that). I

have only bought 2 new outfits in the last 2 years and they are just about

threadbare. I'm still keeping a pair of my old sized pants (holes and all).

That way when I get discouraged at what seems to be my slower progress than

others I can put them on (without undoing the button or zipper) and watch them

fall back off! It doesn't take much to make me happy anymore.

Pam,

What a great sense of humor! I love the comment about your pups and the

left overs! Can't imagine the time, money, etc. that I will save/have after the

surgery....

Hey ladies,

I only live 30 minutes from Carowinds. We went there last Sunday!!

Since your are so excited you may want to consider season pases

(depending on how far away you live). They only cost about 45 or 50

dollars and it costs about 25 to get in for 1 day!!! The season passes

are good all the way through park closing in October.

I am preop but when I was at Carowinds on Sun, I was dreaming about the

day when I could go and have a good time and not worry about breaking

any of the rides or benches!!!! Good luck

I am embarrassed to say that I don't know 's last name. It used to

be , but she is divorced now so I am not sure what she goes by.

I have been trying to find out myself so I can call the hospital and

check on her, she had her surgery today with Dr R. am sure she will be

back online in a few days and she is sooo nice. She will do whatever

she can to help , I am sure.

Thanks Nan. I have decide to approach this trip as an adventure that at the

least may provide more humorous material for future e-mails. Or as one of

my best friends is fond of saying: " Screw 'em if they can't take a joke! "

I'll give y'all a progress report as soon as I " recover " .

Dear Tara,

As long as your insurance company is playing " pass the paperwork " and

forwarding it to " their " doctor I would say all hope is not lost, and take

it as a good sign. Somebody (of the umpteen hands your request has gone

through so far, if it's like most insurance companies) saw something that

made them think the situation/request was at least worth a thorough second

opinion....I'd say that's a plus

You know we're all rooting for you, so hang in there. I think all of you

who are playing the " hurry up and wait " game with Big Brother Insurance

deserve medals. Here's a thought to cheer you (or maybe depress you

further....if so, pass the Prozac): Compared with trying to talk " reason "

to the various yo-yo's who are keeper's of the checkbook, the actual WLS

will seem like a " piece of cake. "

At least after your surgery, the only person you'll have to reason with is

yourself. Remember too, your MGB Internet Fan Club will be available at a

push of the button. Hang tough, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

PS: I was just rereading my message here and noticed the " piece of cake "

reference. It hit me that even our catch phrases are designed to make

losing weight hard....just think of all those food references out there in

everyday conversation. IT'S A CONSPIRACY, I TELL YOU......(a little

paranoia never hurt anybody).

There's a lady on Dr. R's website named Kathy who went through Kaiser.

You've probably already talked to her or read her web page, but if not, you
