Guest guest
Hi Judy had it all done in about 2 weeks. When she starts a scrapbook she keeps pretty steady on it until she gets it done. Judy became a huge Colts fan last year with the Colts winning the Super Bowl. She never did watch football until last winter. the Colt's started out the football season last night and Judy was glued to the TV last evening. She told me after the scrapbook how much the Colts help to support their program at Noble. She purchased a Colts T-shirt and was happy wearing it to work yesterday. Bill Re: Did you know... Guest guest
I can't stay with something that long. I have to do a page at a time, with a break inbetween. Maybe because I have young children with grabby hands. LOL. That's cute about Judy liking football now. I don't think anything could make me like football. But, I do finally like Nascar. Guest guest
Trista, Don't kid yourself into believing that you can't do any job... You already are girl.. You're still raising your children!!! That's the most important job in the world as far as I'm concerned and I think a whole lot of people besides myself would agree with that one! You may not realize it, but you give your children a greater sense of security than other kids have by being at home for them.. They know, at least somewhere deep inside, that if they really need mom.. they know right where to find her.. It's hard for us, as parents, to feel good about stuff, when we ask the kids to do something for us, and we get and "I Will", or they grumble and moan while they do it.. And it's hard to know that neither of my boys kept/keep in close contact with me... But they still knew/know just where to find mom when something arises that they can't handle on their own.. (Pain in my heart sometimes that I only seem to hear from them when they are in deep ca-ca, but then I remind myself of what the lady told me that first day of daycare... I raised my boys to be independant, which was/is supposedly a good thing.. though it doesn't always feel that way) YOU are still, taking care of the family and the house.. At one point in time, that was THE most important job a woman could do.. And the sad part is, a woman who grows up and wants nothing more than to be a good mother and wife is looked down upon by our society.. To me, being a Domestic Engineer is still very much a career choice.. and definitely NOT one of the easier career choices in life.. Why do you think that cave men went out and hunted for food.. and the tradition has continued for eons???? Because they did NOT want to do our jobs!!! It was easier to face that Cave Lion and kill it than stay in the cave and raise the kids!!! |}onna Re: Did you know... Guest guest
Donna, you are such a sweetheart. I agree with everything you said. I guess it's because I'm "sitting" on a license that could bring in $6000.00 a month, and I feel like I'm wasting all that time in college. The funny thing is that I always wanted to be a sahm. Now that I am, it makes me mad. (because I feel like my body dictates what I can and can't do. I am very headstrong. I don't like anyone, or anything TELLING me what I can or cannot do. LOL. Thank you for reminding me what I already know. My kids DO need me at home. I actually homeschool my 2 special needs boys, and the other two are 2 & 3 years old. ~*Trista*~ CFIDS/FM ~ Educate yourself. My disabling chronic illness is more real, than your imaginary medical expertise! Guest guest
Trista, Okay, I'm gonna be nosy here.. what's the license for??? And you didn't waste all that time in college.. YOU got that degree!!!... and I'm bettin' that you didn't sit in the cafeteria playing Trivial Pursuit when you should have been studying for a test, or in some cases attending a class or two... I didn't do bad in my college years.. The one class I did get a terrible grade in, it wasn't my fault.. it was a programming language class, and EVERY time that semester that I entered the computer lab, the system crashed!! We had 10 programs to write and compiled and debug and turn in.. that amounted to 50% of our grade.. I completed ONE.. and that one printed garbage..(though I did get credit for it, because I'm pretty sure the professor are still trying to figure out why it printed out garbage.. they couldn't find the cause then either)... I aced the tests.. But.......... I never finished that degree... in all actuality... I can't honestly say that I've ever completed anything I've started.. 'cept for maybe 5 crocheted afghans... one dress I made for me.. and one suit coat that I made for Earl when he was the car salesmen in Willie Wonka in his classroom play.. cooked a few complete meals in my time.... but never finished that degree.. Heck.. I started to work on going back to school over a year ago.. it's true that I stopped planning entrance into Mortuary Science after Bud died.. but I think I'm now past all those pictures in my mind and could start planning again.. but now I'm working.. But I've decided that I WILL continue to go to work as much as I can, for as long as I can.. until Dianne decides to terminate me.. if she ever does.. But that license you hold... is not wasted.. you have something to show for the time and money you put into the license... I have/had one solitary application that I wrote that just might have gone somewhere, had the IRS not decided that the owner/operators of the cement mixers.. weren't owner/operators at all, but employees of the company... I had just finished it, and was about to demonstrate it to the other drivers, when the ruling came down.. After that they had NO need for this program... So the time and money I spent, not earning a degree.. didn't do me a bit of good... No another thought.. you've got a license.. that makes you an expert in your field.. (licenses do that you know).. and you've got a good head on your shoulders (as my mother always used to say)... and I'm thinking you're quite creative as well.. You have to be.. you homeschool two special needs children.. So why not write a book.. you can clearly write and express yourself very well.. and there are spell and grammar checkers in Microsoft Word, that will pick up most if not all the errors you might make while writing.. I KNOW there are a ton of homeschoolers out there that haven't got the foggiest idea what to do.. a friend of mine spent a couple thousand on a package of some sort.. to homeschool her son.. and it was a waste of money.. it wasn't what she needed... And then there are a whole load of people in this area of Pennsylvania alone that would love to homeschool their kids, because the school districts are lame or dangerous.. but they haven't a clue as to what and how to go about it.. If I hadn't researched and pursued homeschooling options.. You've already proven that you can do anything that you set your mind to... You've got that degree and that license.. And yes, I completely understand the feeling of your body dictating what you can and cannot do... Mine decided to test my determination this past week.. Must be something in being a Virgo.. because I too am... hmmm... headstrong isn't the word for me.. Stubborn Wench is.. maybe even Stubborn Jackass... Don't tell me what to do.. Ask me to do it.. Don't tell me I can't.. cause I'm going to die trying to prove that I can.. I guess I have completed some things.. but not because it's been something I wanted to do.. it's been because someone somewhere said I couldn't... LOL I allowed the MonSter to control everything that I did or didn't do for way too long.. I still give in at times.. when it's a battle that I know I won't win if I continue to push... Like the hot humid days that really wipe me out.. I'll come home and sit in the a/c, undressed for about a half an hour.. if the fatigue doesn't let up.. then I will go lay down.. it wouldn't do any good to continue to fight it.. because I won't win that one.. But like today.. when I felt like I could take a nap, sitting here IN the a/c.. My body kept telling me that I needed to go pile up in bed and take a nap.. instead I took the other half of the Provigil, and waited to see.. it's eased a bit, but still I feel I could nap.. but NOTHING brought this one on.. so I'm not giving in to the MonSter.. this one he will not win.. What you need to remember, and I know that it's going to be hard to remember, is that... "This too shall pass"... maybe tape yourself up a fancy little printed piece of paper that when you glance up, you'll see it and it will remind you.. it may seem like the things going on right now.. won't ever go away or ease up.. and that you might just lose your mind before they do because it's taking so long.. But it WILL get better.. maybe not perfect, but better.. I think alot of the stuff I'm going through right now, comes with the changing of the seasons as well... I have more trouble with the changing of summer to fall.. and winter to spring, than the other two season changes.. Go figure.. And.. in final.. that 6k a month would be extremely nice... but.... look at all the priceless things you might have missed if you were out and about and busy making that 6k.. there have been some "firsts" that you've got to witness firsthand with the little ones.. I don't think I'd have sold that first complete sentence uttered by my boys for 6k... |}onna Re: Did you know... Guest guest
Maybe your body is helping you do what you always wanted to be--a stay at home mom. Sometimes I think that the gift MS gave me was the chance to spend more time with family instead of working myself to death. I try to look at it as a gift. That's not always easy but I work at it.hugs))Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Donna, It's for nursing. (Specifically psychiatric/forensic) I guess I do have to admit that it is still helping me, even not working outside the home. I use it daily with the boys. My oldest was actually dx'd by me doing research, when no one would evaluate him. He finally got his dx on paper when he was almost 12. That sucks about your computer class. It is a little comical, only because that's my kind of luck! LOL. I have thought of writing a book. I'm not sure I could stick with it long enough to finish though. It would never feel complete enough, with my OCD. I think I need to finish with my emails, and try to sleep. I fell asleep on the couch, after bathing the little ones, and slept till midnight. Now I'm wide awake, though still exhausted. Sweet dreams. ~*Trista*~ CFIDS/FM ~ Educate yourself. My disabling chronic illness is more real, than your imaginary medical expertise! Re: Did you know... Guest guest
Sharon, I have thought the same thing. I also think it is helping me grow as a person. I am normally a very strong, independent person. It has humbled me, and helped me to rely on others. ~*Trista*~ CFIDS/FM ~ Educate yourself. My disabling chronic illness is more real, than your imaginary medical expertise! Re: Did you know...
