Guest guest
Has anyone heard of liver dysfunction in charge kids? How about issues with Prostaglandins?? I recently met a woman whose son, Tyler just came home from the hospital with a Charge diagnoses, and these are two issues he has that I have no info on. Suggestions? I found nothingwhen I searched the archive for liver. Lacey (and Lucas)
Guest guest
My Mother has it, it is a hereditary disease that is passed down from relative to relative. I don't think it has anything to do with CHARGE, but then again I might be dignosed with it when I turn 30 - in five years. I believe that if a CHARGEr has a symtom or a disease that isn't in the books, then it has to do with the immune system going out of whak in the womb. I hope this helps. Guest guest
I recall there have been posts to report they found cysts in the liver. I also recall cases of enlarged liver here on the list. But your correct in saying that the LIVER has not been a greatly reported topic, nor probably a well researched one in CHARGE. There is a great deal of new research on the role of Prostaglandins in human health. Some of the young adults (Andy for example?) reported high cholesterol levels. This could be related. My feeling is the early lack of growth and some reports of not being able to gain weight could involve " LIVER " and the relationship of Prostaglandins to hormones and cholesterol, etc. (this is in no way a medical direction) From experience, my student with LMBBSyndrome, was helped through the special diet (he also was allergic to everything, including many foods, immune system in chaos) and his liver recently rechecked OK this time.
