Guest guest
Well, good to know that I am not the only one. It was driving me nuts and I don't know anyone around here that is b/f. Or has in the recent past. Even my OB whose daughter is only 2 doesn't remember. Oh well. thanks sooo much Hugs KRisti
Guest guest
Jannie is now 13 weeks old. I can't believe she is already 13 weeks. And it is just uncomfortable. I have been to my doctor soooo many times I really hope I can avoid it until my next pregnancy. Hugs Kristi
Guest guest
Not strange at all! I do that too. Not so much now that Karissa is 7.5 mos old, but when I get engorged, it still happens. melanie Kristi Kurtz wrote: > > > This may seem a bit strange, but letdown hurts for me. Guest guest
When I used to first nurse (and actually till about a couple of weeks ago) nursing let down hurt quite a bit. It's good to know that you respond when needed though.... consider yourself somewhat lucky. It will get better sooner or later. Guest guest
Kristi, My letdowns have always hurt, but mostly in the first couple of months, then they seem to ease a little. But I know what you mean. I have heard other people say the same thing. Leisa Does anyone have this happen? > > >This may seem a bit strange, but letdown hurts for me. Guest guest
Mine typically causes teeth-clenching pain during the early months. I sometimes had to breathe through them. But it still only lasted a few seconds, and now I feel a let-down, but it doesn't hurt. Now if it lasts more than a few seconds, THAT'S when I would see a dr. wrote: > > > So, you feel the pinch? Guest guest
So, you feel the pinch? For me it's uncomfortable for a few seconds. But is normal. I've never heard of it causing major pain. If it does, you should check with your DR. How old is Jannie? You do get used to it. S. Mom to 5. Does anyone have this happen? > > >This may seem a bit strange, but letdown hurts for me. Guest guest
Kristi, What was wrong that you had to see your Dr. so often? If you don't mind me asking. I have to tell you kinda covet your position. If your looking forward to having more babies. It's reall hard being done. Even though I have 5 beautiful kids. I mourn the idea of not having more. Sorry to be depressing. I have a website if any of you would like to visit it. We just had a family picture taken last weekend. I'll put it on my website when I get them back. www.angelfire.com/co/gscottfamily/index.html S. Hugs Kristi >> The pinch you're feeling are the muscles behind your milk ducts pushing the milk out. I used to get it too (until Kylie was about 5 or 6 months old), along with a rush of nausea then I'd get really tired. It's the MER (milk ejection reflex) that causes the pain (pinch or tingling) and the prolactin rush that causes the nausea and sleepiness. The first few weeks post-partum, I used to get contractions with it too - the prolactin causes your uterus to contract and return to pre-pregnancy size much faster. & Kylie, still nursing at 18 months! Guest guest
: I had the pregnancy from HELL> I was hospitalized 12 times and from 20 weeks was going weekly to see Dr Dillon. I had Hyperemesis and preterm labor. Seems strange to look forward to another pregnancy. LOL. I want to wait a bit yet though. Guest guest
Jannie is a very vigorous nurser. She can drain my breast in 10 to 15 min. Very fast. My SIL b/f her son and it take about an hour. I think the longest Jannie has ever nursed so far is when she was sick. She just didn't have the energy to nurse. that is also the only time she was ever given a bottle. And that was when she was a few days old. Once she started nursing, forget the bottle. She won't take it at all. Hey, she knows where to get the good stuff. Hugs Kristi
Guest guest
Yes, I had this especially when I fed #1, it hurt like pins and needles being dragged through my breasts! Now that #2 is 7 months, I dont notice let down at all, sometimes a dull ache thats all! so in my book you're normal! Guest guest
: Hyperemesis is excessive vomiting. I got dehydrated basically. The preg might have sucked but, the labor was great and so is Jannie. SHe is such a good baby and I was very lucky not to have all teh problems nursing that others have had. SHe took to it like a duck to water. Except when she was sick, it was a breeze. I think that is the only reason why I am willing to try b/f until she self weens. Guest guest
Kristi I have an over active letdown and it hurts. Not all the time, but when I am full it can be quite painfull for a couple seconds. The good side is My milk is fast and Marty is so use to it he drinks fast. People are always remarking on how fast he feeds. If I say wait I can't leave till I feed the baby, they expect it to take twenty minutes or more. he can fill himself in only 5 or 10. But my bottle baby was the same way! Good luck Betsy

Guest guest
Jen: The morning sickness and hyperemesis just never stopped. Preterm labor was at 34 weeks. 1 week of magsulfate. THe preterm labor is one reason that I am waiting at least 2 years to get pregnant. I won't be able to b/f Jannie if I get pregnant before she weens. I really want her to ween first. Guest guest
Kiva is 7 mo old and I still have this on occasion, but it was every time she ate at first. It gets better, and it doesn't even happen every time now. Just hang in there!! Jen At 02:40 PM 1/13/99 PST, you wrote: > > >This may seem a bit strange, but letdown hurts for me. Guest guest
jen: It still could have been hyperemesis. I jsut never got rid of the morning sickness. Some women don't get morning sickness until their second trimester. So, you prolly did have it. Hugs Kristi
Guest guest
, WOW!!! You have done your homework. I'm impressed. I have breastfed, forever, and didn't know this info. Thank you.
