In laboratory models of influenza, the team found that an isolated segment of the M2 protein causes damage to lung protein, and that antioxidant compounds prevented the M2 protein from causing this damage. Explaining that: “Influenza virus M2 protein inhibits epithelial sodium channels by increasing reactive oxygen species,†the researchers submit that “these novel findings suggest a mechanism for the influenza-induced rhinorrhea and life-threatening alveolar edema in humans.†Continue reading… http://www.fasebj.org/cgi/content/abstract/23/11/3829?maxtoshow= & HITS=10 & hits=10 & RESULTFORMAT= & author1=matalon & andorexactfulltext=and & searchid=1 & FIRSTINDEX=0 & sortspec=relevance & resourcetype=HWCIT Love, Gabby. :0) http://stemcellforautism.blogspot.com/ http://www.facebook.com/gabby911 http://twitter.com/stemcell4autism "I know of nobody who is purely Autistic or purely neurotypical.
