For those who have trouble getting enough blood for the test strip, you might

try something that seems to help me. Before testing, just run warm water over

the hand with the finger that you plan to stick for the test. When I do that for

a few seconds, I seem to have a little better luck in getting enough blood for

the job. I can't promise improvement for anyone with the problem, but it's worth

a try.

Oh wow, this is not what the lab told me, they said i coudl have water, but

nothing else.

food or water. Water can dilute the true readings of various blood tests.

Not true. Water has no affect on the fasting blood work. Or so the doctors

and nurses at my medical facility say.

Mine tell me that it is essential I drink water prior to fasting blood tests as:

1. It prevents de-hydration.

2. It has no effect on the results.

3. it is easier to draw blood from a well hydrated person.

This is what my Dr told me and I also had it confirmed by the person doing my

blood test. Will have the results next week.

Water does not affect your labs, and does not dilute your blood in any way,

although I probably wouldn't recommend carbonated or flavoured waters. And no,

coffee doesn't count as water either *grin*
