Guest guest
I remember that every time my son had a cold or other upper respiratory infection, he would have a flare-up with increased blood and protein in his urine. I think that¹s fairly common with IgAN, especially in the early stages. Actually as my son got closer to renal failure, he had fewer colds and the flare-ups occurred only rarely. My question really is do colds cause these so called flair ups > and do the flair ups make your protein excreation go up and down? Also my labs > remained the same and my blood pressure was 117/70. Guest guest
Hi Sam, Oh my goodness! You have just been through so much. I am just so sorry you had to end up in the hospital and now on dialysis. It is so frustrating that you are covered for in-patient dialysis but not for outpatient. It seems like outpatient would cost the insurance company so much less!!! It is very good news that you have willing donors. Hopefully they will work it out so that you can have your transplant soon and have this all behind you. We have had so many successful transplants in 2003, but we are praying for an even better year in 2004! We need to get a kidney for you, Pierre, Derrick and every single one on dialysis now. That is our goal! I am glad you have your computer so you can let us know how you are doing. You are in my prayers Sam. Larua
Guest guest
Hi Torey, Having a viral illness such as a cold definitely can cause a flare up. That is very common. Let's hope and pray that is the cause of your increase in protein! Please let us know if it comes back down.
