I am so sorry. I'm sure this is a great bakery and the owner may vouch for

quality but cannot guarranty the goods are SCD compliant. I live in Toronto and

will try to visit as you have aroused curiosity as to what is left to put in

these bakery items--but the products cannot be deemed acceptable for SCD unless

Elaine checks them out here is why:

There is ONE source of legal baked goods in Toronto:

Elaine has personally checked them out. The person who does all the baking

herself, Jodi Bager, is an adult with Ulcerative Colitis and thorough

familiarity with SCD having followed it for several years. She is a wonderful

cook and baker.

SCD homemade baked goods are simple to make and delicious. Check out the recipes

and links to other SCD recipe sites at:

,

Organic Oven's ingredients are all illegal for SCD.-- each and every one -- the

Brown rice flour, Bean flour, Quinoa, Tapioca, Corn. etc.

I know you were trying to help those of us in Southern Ontario to save time and

enjoy something that probably tastes good.

I'm sorry . This is why we use very few store bought products.

My main concern is that you may be using some of these ingredients. Corn is

very high in gluten. The other ingredients have harmful starches that can be

damaging to the gut. The other parents will agree that many of the homemade SCD

recipes are very simple to make and some of us even have a person to bake a

large supply as a convenience. We can also take a few hours to a large supply

ourselves ad many freeze well. I hope you are not offended that this was

investigated.

I just hung up from Organic Oven. They are very nice but they never heard of SCD

or nut flour and insisted their stuff is good for every special diet. Which is

why we try hard to check things out when possible.

You didn't mention being nut free or having a concern with peanut butter. Why

not bake a batch of our simplest and one of the most delicious SCD recipes--give

them a try! :-)

PEANUT BUTTER BROWNIES

by Bev

1 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
