goat's cheese

I know there has been a little discussion about whether goat's milk or cheese

would be " safe " . I'm nearly certain that it is not. I think I read somewhere

that the only mammalian milk that would be safe on this diet is human milk from

a mother who is on the diet herself. I wish I could remember where I saw that.

In any case, if goat cheese WAS safe, I strongly doubt that most of our kids

would eat it. And we certainly wouldn't want to pay for it. Goat cheese is

very tart tasting (I don't like it at all, and I love cheeses), and costs

anywhere from $10-$20 per pound! Of course, I've only ever seen it in little 4

oz logs. It is also called Chevre. It crumbles, and softens under heat. My

husband likes it in a spinach salad or on a sandwich which also has spinach on

it.

In case you'e wondering, I read cookbooks the way normal people read

best-sellers.
