Thanks . Nice to hear a positive story from someone my age. I have

about 90 pounds to lose -though that depends on how I feel the closer I get down

near the goal. I know this program is totally workable that is why I joioned.

I like the idea of keeping a baggie of food with me. What is Kashi cereal

though. I am from Toronto and we may not get it up here so I may have to

substitute it for something else.

Thanks for the support.

Absolutely RIGHT Dara!! :)

Toadie, if you lose " only " 6 pounds every 8 weeks, in one year you

will have lost almost 40 pounds. Will that make you better, or worse

off, than you were the day you started WW? Believe me, it took me

MUCH longer than that to lose 40 pounds (the point I am at now) and I

am grateful to every pound that has bid its goodbye to me. :)

You're doing great so far Toadie! Every loss, no matter how small,

is a victory.

I know of these legal juices off the top of my head - Dole Pineapple in the

can (takes very little to flavor a lot of water when diluted), Welch's

grape, and Tropicana original OJ not from concentrate. Homemade lemonade is

also easy and a nice treat. GL!

Hi ,

You know, I think store bought juices may be one of our hottest

topics here. I don't mean forbidden, I just mean very popular! The

truth is -- our list is pretty short due to the major problems with

commercially made juices - even the lovely organic beauties in the

HFS. It can be just as much about process as it is ingredients.

So, here goes... These have been checked out by Elaine, and are

considered legal.

Welch's White or Purple grape juice in the bottle (it says from

concentrate and is ok), do not use the frozen canned stuff

Tropicana OJ - plain, nothing added (calcium, etc.)

Knudsen's " Just Juice " line found at HFS

Dole pineapple juice (not from concentrate)

Tomato Juice in jar or can (brands vary by location, most are ok)

I may have missed one or two and others will chime in, but the other

alternative is to get a juicer and make your own juice (not as

tricky as it seems at first). All juice should be diluted by at

least half. Do you think the ice method gets it to this ratio? If

not, you may try diluting it a little before you pour it for him.

What I do is keep a plastic pitcher in the fridge with diluted juice

so I don't have to make the " cocktail " everytime.

I have no idea about the mead - someone else may know. Did you try

the legal/illegal or knowledge base lists on Elaine's website?

www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info

Take care,

(does anyone have Patty's old post about juice? Is it in

the files, or could it be placed there? Thanks!)
