Guest guest
" We have been trying to identify the source of copper and nickel and figure it must be in the cashew nut and almond nut butters in his muffins. " When we chelated, copper was not one of the items that was tested in the urine output, but nickel was. On their blood elements test drawn before we started, both had very elevated copper. Both of my boys had quite a bit of nickel on the tests we did. At that point in time neither of them was on SCD and nuts were not a part of our typical diet. (They were much younger and I didn't feed them whole nuts then.) was allergic to peanuts for a long time and to be honest, the other nut butters were very expensive and rarely purchased. So, if I had to guess, I would guess that the source of nickel and copper are coming from the environment in general. I would ask this same question (without the SCD part) on Autism-Mercury to see if all of the parents are seeing fairly high levels of nickel coming out. High copper is a big issue in autism and is one of the main focuses of the Pfeiffer clinic. Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 15 months
Guest guest
And the matter of ketones... When were these urine samples collected? Was it first morning urine? (That's what we had to collect for chelation testing.) Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 15 months
Guest guest
We collected the urine around 1 in the afternoon in the Dr.'s office for the ketones. The chelation urine is usually collected in the afternoon/evening. Does that make a difference? I will check with the other group about the nickel ... Thanks so much!
