Guest guest
Dear Cheryl, Tracey,Anyone help,My soon to be 3 yr old/35 lbs son has been on Valtrex for 3 weeks now and I haven't seen any rashes or unsual skin marks in his little body. I have seen a little more language, tiny bit more of eye contact and awareness and even more affection towards us especially with his Father. I'm now only giving him two 500mg's of Valtrex (at breakfast & lunch time) mixed with 50mg of Difflucan...is this not enough, to much...or should I worry about not seeing any rashes. One thing I have notice is alot of tongue stimming (not sure what to call it) salvatation and sticking out his tongue to the right direction or curling it in the front...all sorts of bazaar tongue actions...not sure if this is good or bad....pls. help someone, I hope I didn't start my son to young on Valtrex. Thank you, Irma To: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Sent: Wed, October 6, 2010 10:23:21 PMSubject: Re: 3rd day of Valtrex and... Definitely a good sign!Rhonda Masengale My son has a rash on stomach... Guest guest
The half life of valtrex is 2.5 hrs. THat means 1/2 the dose is gone from the body in 2.5 hrs. You can assume all is gone in 5 hours. They recommend splitting the dose to 3 times per day. I assume you are crushing the valtrex so you can easily divide it into 3 doses. I think only 1/3 of the kids get rashes so do not worry about that. If his tongue is white that means yeast and he may need to go to a higher dose of diflucan maybe 100 mgs. Is he waking at night or acting silly. Those are also signs of yeast. YOu need to stay on it for several months to see if it is working or not. He is not too young for valtrex. Guest guest
Thanks again Cheryl:May I ask how long was your son on Valtrex? I'm pretty much giving my 2.10mth old/35 lbs son 2 doses of 500mg's per day.....is this to much or too little would you say? He seems to be ok thus far, with the exception of the new tongue action...is the new tongue movement (curls to the side) some kind of side of affect or could it be a new mouth exploration or stimming? With all the HBOT, Gluthadione, Enhansa, Probiotics and all his vitamins....he still hasn't stopped "voice stimming" and his eye contact isn't quite there yet....are there any other meds or vitamins that can help with this? Guest guest
Could be his mouth is waking up and those nerves are starting to send info to his brain. That's a good sign. Guest guest
Yes , I have notice an even more thicker white coating with tiny pink dots all over his tongue. I brush his tongue twice daily but it hasn't helped much. Do you think removing him from the Gluten & Casein free diet and putting him in the SCD diet would be necessary? I know S.Kurtz swore by it....but will it really make a difference I wonder? I've gotten so used the GF/CF diet. Also , I don't mean to sound repetitive but can I mix the Valtrex with the Difflucan in his peach puree together, it won't cancel them out will it, do you think? Guest guest
My son is a very tall and thin 5 1/2 yrs. old. He started Valtrex when was 5 yrs. old, and he was 38 lbs. He is now 5 1/2 yrs., and is 40 lbs. We worked up to 500mg 3x a day (and that is where we stay now -- again, he is 40 lbs.)Diflucan: We give 90mg-100mg of Diflucan, once daily -- in the morning, w/ his first dose of Valtrex. Five hours later he gets his second dose of Valtrex, 5 hours after that he gets his 3rd dose of Valtrex. Valtrex has a short half life, so it needs to be dosed often (3x a day..)Not everyone experiences a rash (however, we did..)HTH, To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, October 6, 2010 11:41:22 PMSubject: Re: Cheryl/Tracey help...2nd WEEK on Valtrex..no rash.. Guest guest
, thanks again for your response. May I ask why you don't split the Difflucan 3 times per day as well? and how long do you wait to add your probiotics, any enzymes and vitamins after the Valtrex?By the way, I saw a picture you had posted of your son and his angelic face brought a smile on my face when I was going through one of my sad spells. He's really precious and very handsome, what a bright young man he's going to be. I saw another post stating you had attached a video of your son but I couldn't open it unfortunately I tried looking for any videos on utube and saw a another handsome boy named but I wasn't sure if it was your little one. Did you get a chance to upload any videos on utube yet and if so how did you lable the clips so we can see them? I'm thinking of doing the same but I didn't get any footage of him in his spinning days, gosh he use to spin a block like a top with so much flare, doesn't care for it anymore. Guest guest
Oh Cheryl I trully hope your son has a very happy & delightful 7th birthday and wish you many more wonderful birthdays for you & your family in years to come. I know you've been on this forum for quite a while now and have answered some of my questions in the past, since I first started Biomedical Inventions for my son a year and a half a go. You have always shown your support for so many of us as well as everyone else on this board. I truly value your opinion and admire you as a women and superior mother. It's truly a honor to be able to comunicate with you.Thank you again for your time and for sharing your wisdom.Irma Sahdala To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Thu, October 7, 2010 11:16:32 AMSubject: Re: Cheryl/Tracey help...2nd WEEK on Valtrex..no rash.. My son have been on antivirals since he was 3. He turns 7 on Saturday. 2x is day is, in my opinion (I'm not a doctor!), too low. Should be 3x a day. Cheryl ~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com ~@midian42~ Thanks again Cheryl:May I ask how long was your son on Valtrex? I'm pretty much giving my 2.10mth old/35 lbs son 2 doses of 500mg's per day.....is this to much or too little would you say? He seems to be ok thus far, with the exception of the new tongue action...is the new tongue movement (curls to the side) some kind of side of affect or could it be a new mouth exploration or stimming? With all the HBOT, Gluthadione, Enhansa, Probiotics and all his vitamins....he still hasn't stopped "voice stimming" and his eye contact isn't quite there yet....are there any other meds or vitamins that can help with this? Guest guest
Irma, are you giving the Diflucan 3x a day?????You only need to give it once a day. Cheryl~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~@midian42~ , thanks again for your response. I want to thank you again for helping all of us,Irma Sahdala To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Thu, October 7, 2010 12:24:25 PMSubject: Re: Cheryl/Tracey help...2nd WEEK on Valtrex..no rash.. My son is a very tall and thin 5 1/2 yrs. old. He started Valtrex when was 5 yrs. old, and he was 38 lbs. He is now 5 1/2 yrs., and is 40 lbs. We worked up to 500mg 3x a day (and that is where we stay now -- again, he is 40 lbs.) Diflucan: We give 90mg-100mg of Diflucan, once daily -- in the morning, w/ his first dose of Valtrex. Five hours later he gets his second dose of Valtrex, 5 hours after that he gets his 3rd dose of Valtrex. Valtrex has a short half life, so it needs to be dosed often (3x a day..) Not everyone experiences a rash (however, we did..) HTH, To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, October 6, 2010 11:41:22 PMSubject: Re: Cheryl/Tracey help...2nd WEEK on Valtrex..no rash..
