Hi Everyone,

I just got back my son's organic acid profile. Good news, his

L.acidophilus, clostridia and yeast/fungal levels are all

normal.....I honestly don't know what they were pre-SCD, but this is

good. He does however have " severe intestinal dysbiosis-bacterial " .

I'm not sure exactly what that is, or if the SCD helps that. He wants

to use probiotics for this, but not yet. I only spoke briefly with

my doctor about it.(we see him Wed.) His doctor says he has an

enzyme disorder, and that he is not absorbing any of the B vitamins,

along with many others. He is recommending B12 shots, and expects to

see improvement with treatment. Is anyone else using or has used B12

shots? Did they help? He wants him to have 3 shots a week, that I

will give him at home. (a little scary to me) Thanks to anyone with

any advice or info.

Yes, it should. When was this test performed? What is your son

eating these days? Any changes in bowels etc.

There is a legal probiotics listed on the website. Please see

http://www.pecanbread.com/probiotics.html

Have you considered trying the yogurt (if not already doing so)? You

could go with cow, goat or nut yogurt. The yogurt is full of

natural enzymes so that may also help with a probiotic effect and an

enzyme effect.

I haven't personally used the B12 shots but other adults on the LI

list have. They've reported that the needles are superfine and you

barely feel them. One reason thay are prescribed is for those who

are unable to effectively use the oral vitamins or the sublingual

B12.

Adam's yeast was very high before SCD (even after antifungals) and

is within limits now. Also his bacterial went sky high ON the

antifungals, and is coming down. Most markers are in range.

Interestingly, even the clostridia marker came down these last 3

months.

We are using B12 shots. Started in late Feb. We are seeing some

great things - we think much of it is due to the B12. The needles

are tiny. My son will not be still for it, but my husband gives

them when Adam's sleeping, and he doesn't even flinch. LOTS of

parents are giving it this way.

The goat yogurt (started late March) is also helping Adam. The SCD

laid the groundwork for all this.

You are on the right track! Hang in there.
