Guest guest
I don't doubt one bit that we all may have 'different' built in 'satisfaction' levels! That could so easily be explained by how one's blood sugar processes and registers with the brain. I also think that 'fullness' levels can and are somewhat learned too. I know that when I was a teenager my mom used to tell me that I had to have a 'hollow leg' due to all the food I ate and didn't really go to fat either. I may have associated full with near stuffed and lets face it, I'm neither 'growing' nor as active as I was then so of course the excess 'sticks and stays' (now). But my 'appetite' has pretty much remained the same - until IE that is. I am learning to adjust to what satisfaction is for me NOW. However there are a couple things I see going on with him- he gets the least attention of the 3 kids and I wonder sometimes if he is using food for comfort but I also wonder if he is prone to overeating due to genetics. While most all of us are average weights in my family, my mother has mentioned several times that she feels like she really has a big appetite and has a hard time getting full. I feel the same way about my appetite and I recently read that they are fnding through research that some peoples satiety is off (something to do with the brain...hypothalamus?). It's all very interesting to me. > Re: Re: Book & Benef > > I think it is very interesting how so many of us are remembering unkind > comments > > by family members, especially our mothers, about our weight, eating, etc. > when we > were very young.
