Guest guest
I just wanted to add that those who take seizure meds should take precaution and check with the doctor. Some seizure meds (like valproic acid)inhibit seizure activity by blocking glutamines. Obviously, you would not want to be taking glutamine and then a glutamine blocking med. Guest guest
My son started taking L-Glutamine about 3 months ago. So far,our experience has been positive. I have seen improvements in behavior, comprehension, and speech. What has not improved is his hypoglycemia and extreme reactions to offending foods. I'm not sure about the correct dosage. I've been giving him 1000mg/day. Any help with dosage would be appreciated. Also, I just heard about a test called K.U.B. which I gather is some sort of gut x-ray. Does anyone know anything about this? ( SCD 3yrs.)

Guest guest
It was recommended by our Dan doctor for to take 1300 mg of Glutamine daily. The decision on how much to give was based on lab results from Metametrix Lab. Metametrix does and entire amino acid analysis (in addition to other analysis) and recommends a custom formulation. I would have labs run to determine the ideal amount b/c each patient is so unique. We did have the abdominal x-ray done as well. (by Dan Dr. Krigsman on Long Island, NY..he's the best!)This information can be very useful, as it informed us that our son was very backed up. (I forget the correct terminology for this at the moment. I think it was " high sedementation " ) Hope this helps a little, > > My son started taking L-Glutamine about 3 months ago. Guest guest
please research L-Glutamine; it should not be used if there are liver/kidney problems ( which most ASD kids have) and it will cause further damage if you have elevated ammonia in the blood ( which most ASD kids have) i would stay away you will find that asd's have the following commonalities: heavy metal toxicity, bacterial/viral infections, inflammation, AND glutamate receptor issues
