Guest guest
, Thanks for posting Dr. 's letter. I read the NEJM article but did not have the time to dissect it in the depth that Dr. Soloman has, nor do I have the knowledge and ability to analyze a study to that extent; therefore, this letter was very helpful to me, assuming, of course, that Dr. 's conclusions are correct. I do have one question: Could the patients that came out of the hospital playing Rachmaninoff play Rachmaninoff before their cardiac arrests? Please advise. Guest guest
Thanks for posting this, Dr. B. It is a very good analysis of the results from someone who obviously understands statistical values and research outcomes. It DOES lead us to think that further studies on this are warranted, which means they need to be done on a much larger scale as well as other things. I wish we had more codes in our little area of the state so we could provide more beneficial help in a research study of the magnitude this one (and others) need to be. Anyway, this is also very interesting for my class. We spent several hours discussing EMS research (and the lack of) and some simple statistical stuff. I plan to distribute this e-mail, if you don't mind, to my little group as more food for thought regarding research and articles in general.
