Guest guest
> Is everyone just taking one good multivitamin and probiotics that > Elaine recommends? , I too, am just starting out and I have " listened " to your questions closely because I feel I'm in the same general situation as you. I took out ALL suppliments the week I started SCD only because for our last lab tests he was supposed to be free of all that. I have seen improvement just since Easter. I think I am going to take 's (?) advice and only use the multi vitamin for a while, then slowly add others to see how necessary they really are. I have the same thought - if their little guts are healing, wouldn't they be accessing the nutrition through their foods? I mean, these kids aren't getting their caloric and nutritive sources from Cap't Crunch after all! There is a list of suppliments on BTVC website. I think SuperNuThera is included. I hope so. I also have to look into the phenol thing. Grrrr. Helen, mom to 9, ASD, SCD since Easter, oldest of three
Guest guest
Super Nu Thera Hypoallerginic capsules is SCD permissable. Not all Super Nu Thera's are permissable, so check the specific one you have in stock already. We did purchase the hypoallergenic for our son, so I guess we are ok there. Note, there is not enough calcium in the hypoallergic line, so you may need to add some Calcium/Vitamin D too. (if you are casein free as well) > > Is everyone just taking one good multivitamin and probiotics that > > Elaine recommends? > > , I too, am just starting out and I have " listened " to your > questions closely because I feel I'm in the same general situation as > you. Guest guest
NO, not everyone is doing that - that was just my personal story with Luke and my personal theory on all the supplements. Others will have various advice on that, I'm sure. in NC Mom of Luke, age 5, Asperger's/low-salicylate; , age 3; and , 21 mos All SCD since 1/26/
Guest guest
Who is your DAN doctor and do they attend the Conferences? He or she should know of SCD and Elaine if they attend. Abby gets really hyper on a multiple so am doing calcium, vit.c, magnesium citrate ( to help stools) magnesium sulfate (like Epsom salt baths) , natures life acidophilus, as well as her required meds for ulcerative colitis. I also give her Miralax twice a week or she will become impacted. SCD has helped us get that down from everyday to twice a week and hopefully eliminated totally. I would do what you think is best, just make sure they are all legal. Also I would make sure the doctor is aware of SCD and your concerns. Kathy Is everyone just taking one multivitamin and probiotics > Is everyone just taking one good multivitamin and probiotics that > Elaine recommends? I am getting confused. My DAN doctor advised us to > put my son on the gf/cf SCD, but also gave us a list a mile long of > mulitiple supplements he should take.
