Guest guest
PH, I agree, you are so beautiful and so is your family. Lynn Re: Dr. Mercola - Optimal Wellness Center PH,This is fantastic info and so helpful to the group! I know it is for me. Especially the focus on adrenal issues and avoiding gluten. WOW! Now there's something we can stress more to everyone! We've talked about gluten issues in the past, but I remember how my feelings were about it....I thought since I wasn't having any immediate issues with gluten containing foods, it wasn't a problem for me. WRONG!!! It turned out to be a problem after all, with positive gluten sensitivity tests! But no digestive issues! I know there are plenty of women on this group still eating gluten containing foods because they don't think gluten is an issue. Girls, think again! Let's tackle this thing together and all get better! I'm convinced that many of us end up with thyroid issues....glad you got the antibodies checked out. You may feel better with some thyroid support, but hopefully you will be successful in getting this autoimmune condition to go away. I've not been tested in ages--I need to, in order to see where I'm at. I'll be following your progress closely!Did they mention anything about using caprylic acid for healing the gut? How are they proposing to tackle any parasite, heavy metal or bacterial issues? I know you don't have your results yet, but wondered if they touched on the subject of treatment at all.The EFT technique sounds amazing. Thanks so much PH, you're offering very valuable contributions! I wish I had been able to go to Mercola's clinic! My parents don't live far from there.I saw your pics on MySpace--you' ve got tons of them up there! What a lovely person you are, and your family looks beautiful and happy!I'm so glad we've all been able to connect!Hugs,Patty> > >> > > PH ~> > > It sounds like you hit gold ! Guest guest
Thanks! I was very happy with him and so glad that he's experienced with yeast. Guest guest
My primary care dr has also checked my thyroid and it came out normal. I think I'm going to bring it up to my naturopath when I see him in Jan. I ordered the foot detox patches to do in between the foot baths. I just wanted to try them out and they're very refreshing. My naturopath said that he actually sent the patches to a laboratory that someone had on the bottom of their feet and they tested positive for metals and mercury. The foot baths definitely work better but I figured why not try the foot patches! > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! How wonderful ! > > > > This is what you have needed. Guest guest
I also had to do the stool samples once about 3 years ago before I was diagnosed with IBS. My GI had ordered the stool samples and I really thought I was going to throw up! I agree with you, I wouldn't want that job of the person that does the testing! Mine came back normal also. Let me know if you do the canary test and what the results are. Steph > > > > > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! How wonderful ! > > > > > > This is what you have needed. Guest guest
, Are you taking anything? Lynn Re: Dr. Mercola - Optimal Wellness Center Krista & PH,I found out today from reading (starting with the link you sent PH),that what many labs label as normal TSH levels are actually notnormal. In 2003 the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologistschanged the "normal" levels from 0.5-5.0 to 0.3-3.04. This makes abig difference! My doctor had concerns about my thyroid in June. Iwas tested and the lab said my levels were "normal". My TSH level was4.87. My rheumatologist looked at my records yesterday because hesaid he wanted my thyroid checked... then said, "I was checked in Juneand it was normal". Don't these guys do any homework? Not to mentionthat the lab is still calling that normal?Krista... what were your TSH numbers? You may be in the same boat asI am.> > > >> > > > PH ~> > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! Guest guest
, Mine were 2.5 and then up to 3.0. I have the antibodies too. I opted to take synthroid even though I am not actually "HYPO" yet. I feel so much better. I was seeing a psychologist at the beginning of the year because my doctors convinced me I was depressed and had anxiety (like Nan). This was pre-explant. When my psych realized my TSH was above 2.0 he said that he sees most women who are over 2.0 have depression. He said to get it under 2.0 and I would feel so much better. Mine is now at 1.04 or so and my energy has increased 10 times!! Depression gone (knock on wood). Lynn Re: Dr. Mercola - Optimal Wellness Center Lynn,What were your TSH numbers? Guest guest
Thanks for the info, . I forgot to mention that Mercola has narrowed the reference ranges for a several blood tests, not just TSH, because long ago he was noticing that he had several patients with " normal " tests who were still very ill. They didn't go into specifics which ranges were narrowed, but they talked about how even some people in the low but " normal " category can feel like they're dying. As I look at my results though, his range for TSH is actually larger than the AACE. His range is 0.40-4.50 and I scored a 1.34. My antibodies though were a 41 but should be less than 35. My T3, Free was 223 but should have been 230-420. So the fact that your TSH is 4.87 mean that you're hyperthyroid, ? I don't know much about all this yet. Guest guest
Hi Stephie, I found the food panel very helpful in knowing what to avoid, although I have become pretty limited. I'm intolerant of all the typical allergans...peanuts, corn, wheat, eggs and cow's milk. It's hard at first but you adjust. I think too as I regain my health I'll eventually be able to eat some of those. Good that you're doing this in the beginning so you can eat right from the start! - PH > > > > > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! Guest guest
PH, The higher the number is the more hypo you are - it is reversed. Crazy huh. Your T3 seems low. Guest guest
I noticed the e-mail. I check my e-mail through my inbox. I used to check the forum but found it easier to keep up through my inbox. I just resort them from oldest to new when I log in. I replied to your e-mail. I am sorry you are having brain fog! That is another thing that disappeared for me after explant and I think the synthroid helped too. I think the thyroid can cause so many issues. I need to figure out how to make a page. Guest guest
- I've always wondered about that. If there is a " normal range " for all labs. My TSH levels have been .719, .934, .644 and 1.058 over the last year or so. I just had some more blood work today. My WBC count is within normal limits (I had it checked because my last one was high and I have those swollen lymph nodes,) so that was good news. But, I found out that I was anemic.....sigh....seems like if it's not one thing it's another, huh?! Love, Krista > > > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! Guest guest
Hi Krista...this is weird, I was just about to post and ask if anyone has anemia and up came your message. I do. I had it 11 mos ago and corrected it with iron pills. Now it's back down again. I'm hesitant to go back on iron pills because I've read you shouldn't if you have an underlying infection. I don't know why I have anemia...I eat bison and spinach often...way more than most and cook in a cast iron skillet. It bothers me but I think too it eventually remedy itself. Could be from all the blood we've had drawn...4 vials to us is different than on a 135 pound person. Congrats on you WBC! Guest guest
PH- That is so weird that you were about to ask that. I was going to respond to your myspace email and tell you about it. I still will, I just haven't had a chance yet. I just emailed my doc back (she just emailed me to tell me about my WBC count and the anemia,) to ask her what I should do. I'm assuming I need to take an iron supplement, but wasn't sure. I don't know why I have it either, hopefully it remedies itself when we get everything else in our body under control! Guest guest
Krista, You probably already know this, but don't go on birth control to fix the anemia. Before explant, my OBGYN said the best way to treat the anemia was with FemCon Fe because it has iron in it...wreaks havoc on the hormones as well as increases the yeast! I took Repliva iron pills but it has red dye in it. Right now the anemia is the least of my problems. I'll have to see what Mercola suggests. Don't worry about responding to the myspace...whenever you get a chance, as it's another novel! - PH > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! Guest guest
PH- I went off birth control pills last March and I will never go on them ever again....ever! My hubby is getting the snippity snip as soon as we have kids. I took it for about 4 years but had a lot of problems with it the last two years. We weren't able to find one that didn't make me nauseous, it caused melasma (brown spots, oh so pretty) on my face, and made my blood pressure rise. So, no more of that! My doc emailed back and just said to take an iron supplement. Let me know what Dr. Mercola says, I'm very curious. I started the Caprylic Acid today. We'll see how that goes! Guest guest
No....4.87 means really hypothyroid! The TSH stands for thyroid stimulating hormone. It means that the pituitary doesn't see much action from the thyroid at all, so it is kicking out more stimulating hormone, saying, " produce, you stupid thyroid, get busy and do your job! " The higher the TSH, the more hypothyroid you are. A good target goal for the TSH is close to one or zero. I feel best when I am closer to zero. Guest guest
Krista and PH, I had mild anemia for a while and my doctor suggested I up my Vitamin C as it helps you absorb iron. Not sure how it works but she did not want me to do iron unless worse came to worse. I uped my Vitamin C and my labs came back normal. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Thanks, Lynn. I forgot about that...my doc had said long ago to make sure I eat red meat w/ a veggie so I get my Vit C. I do that but don't take extra Vit C which I should do. I have these great tasting Vit C acerola bioflavanoid discs. They have 3 g of sugar in each of them. Do you think that's too much sugar if I pop 4 a day. I'm not getting any other sugar at all. Maybe I should switch to a capsule or powder Vit C w/o the sugar? - PH > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! Guest guest
PH, It is a small enough amount that I would take it but I am not sure what Dr. Mercola's office might think? Have they found you have a yeast issue? Or will they know more with the stool samples? I eat fruit and some foods with a very small amount of sugar. I stay away from junk food and soday, but I drink Rice Milk and it has sugar. So I might not be the best to ask but I would give the Vitamin C a try before iron. Oh, and I am like you... every once in a while when I have cheated and ate candy (like on halloween, I couldn't help it... it was all over at work) it does make me feel better. So, now I just eat fruit and it helps. Lynn Re: Dr. Mercola - Optimal Wellness Center Thanks, Lynn. Guest guest
Lynn, Thanks for this info.... it helps. I'm going to ask my Dr about it when I go Thurs. I have been battling with depression lately and I'm so tired all the time. My father had hypothyroid. I know it has a hereditary component. They might say it is the lupus causing these problems but I believe it is something different. I'll keep you posted. I'm so glad you are feeling so much better on the meds....gives me some encouragement. > > > > > > > > PH ~ > > > > It sounds like you hit gold ! How wonderful ! > > > > This is what you have needed.
