Can somebody please explain to me exactly what FOS is? I saw it on a

site somewhere and have never seen it again. For some reason I am

thinking that bananas have it naturally and yet there are so many scd

recipes that call for bananas. I'm awfully confused!!

Also, anyone have luck replacing eggs with something else? Are Energ-

e egg replacers legal? What else do you use for breads and muffins?

Thanks!

Hi, Please see www.pecanbread.com for eggless recipes and egg

replacer ideas. Many on our list are egg-free.

Everyone! Thank you to those of you who ALWAYS put your name,

child's name, age and diagnosis as well as time on SCD (at least

98%) on EVERY post. Please Please Please - to those of you who don't

yet have this habit - Please Please Please try to follow this list

guideline. It is actually crucial.

Thank you,

Natural FOS is okay, as in a banana, it is when it is removed

concentrated and stuffed back into commercial foods and supplements

that it becomes a problem.

Egg replacers are not legal. If you are sensitive to eggs some find

that after some gut healing occurs with the diet that can slowly add

back foods they had trouble with. Unfortunately this is not the same

as an anaphylactic food reaction - those foods should continue to be

avoided. Also some find that eggs from free range chickens don't

bother them the same as " traditional store bought eggs " (I almost

wrote free range eggs but I doubt eggs do much free ranging)

What else do you use for breads and muffins?

There are loads of recipes at http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html

and

Sheila,

Thank you for the info! My son has ASD and we tried eggs last year

with dastardly results. Hopefully after some time on this diet he

can heal enough to try them again. We have a great food co-op here

so free range eggs will be no problem
