Guest guest
Hi. Just want to say I appreciate seeing this list. It is a blessing from the Lord. First,Is there a way to do the SCD without dairy? My son and I are so sensitive, and I have been reading so much research about dairy (cow's milk in particular) not being a good part of anyone's diet, much less a person prone to bowel disease or problems. The theory is that cow's milk was made for baby cows, not baby humans nor adults. It has a ton more casein in it than human milk does, because a calve needs that much. Each mammals milk is specifically designed for that mammal. What are your thoughts on this? I have read so much about this, and without it, I feel a hundred times better overall, even mentally. Anyway, what are the substitutes for the yogurt in recipes for the breads? Would it still be a great diet without the dairy? I was on the diet for almost a year and a half, and it was a miracle for me for IBS (and already had Crohn's in remission). I do believe in it 100%, but when I got off the diet, I began having problems again of a different manifestation and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. My son has signs of all these problems plus behavioral. He is 3. I had started him on gluten/casein free, but feel the Lord led me back to this diet, because it was so wonderful for me. The only question I have is if I can make it work without dairy. Also, he had multiple IGG food allergies, like to eggs, almonds, beef, several fish, etc. I am wondering if after the starches, sugars and glutens begin to come out if these will all be fine for him. When should I reintroduce them? Also, when should I introduce almonds and nuts to my 8 month old? I know this is a lot, but I am just starting out and have been through so much persecution from everyone for all of these changes, that I just feel blessed to have found others sharing similar experiences. It seems like very few people realize the importance of and impact nutrition has on our bodies in this country. Sadly, I probably never would have either if all of these things hadn't happened to me. God shows us the truth of things in different ways. Thank you! Please email me personally if possible as well. It's hard to keep up with this! Most of your questions can be answered by reading it and the sections are clearly labled. Many families on our list do SCD dairy free and there are lots of suggestions on the website. > Anyway, what are the substitutes for the yogurt in recipes for the > breads? Would it still be a great diet without the dairy? There are dozens of dairy free recipes, both on pecanbread and also, check out www.scdrecipe.com > Also, he had multiple IGG food allergies, like to eggs, almonds, > beef, several fish, etc. I am wondering if after the starches, > sugars and glutens begin to come out if these will all be fine for > him. When should I reintroduce them? We have lots of food allergy families, too and many of them have been able to introduce reactive foods after a while on the diet. Just go VERY slowly and add things a tiny bit (1 teaspoon) at a time when you think the time is right (possibly months down the road). There are egg free recipes on pecanbread. Please use pecans or walnuts before trying almonds. > Also, when should I introduce almonds and nuts to my 8 month old? I can't answer that one.
