Guest guest
Hi Becky, Well as for now she doesn't have an ear infection but they are retracted, whatever that means. A few hours ago I took her temp. and it was 103.6! Had to give Tylenol, that's all I had in the house. If this is die-off, it's a whopper. I called Houston and they are sending me 12 of the no-fenol's to try so we'll see how it goes. I guess I should only use about 1/2 capsule at first, right. Maybe the poopy is a start of a good trend for your son. Did he have a virus/fever at 2 month mark? Abby can say a lot of single words so she has said, hurt, sick and ear. She'll let me know she's hurting if she's really sick but things like headache and stomachache I have to guess at or use PEC's. Take care, Kathy Re: week 9-Kathy > > > > > > > Hi Kathy, > > > I tried sending this post and didn't get confirmation that it > was > > > sent, so I'm sending it again. Guest guest
Hi again. No, they didn't do any blood tests because it was only 100.6 in the office. If it continues to Wed. I'll take her back but for now no ear infection or strep. After she had the Tylenol it went down to 99. Weird. I'm giving her Motrin now so it won't get that high again. She's drinking a lot now and even ate a little jello and chicken for dinner. I am going to call her teacher tomorrow and see if there is anything going around in her class. Yes, my feelings have always been tied into how Abby is doing. I wish it wasn't that way but it is. Sometimes I think she never feels good and it's always something but I keep pressing on. Thanks again, I appreciate you caring and answering my emails. Kathy, Abby's mom, SCD since 2-21-04 Re: week 9-Kathy > Hi Kathy, > Gosh, that's a high temperature. Guest guest
Kathy, An old pediatrician once told me to bring down a fever fast take rubbing alcohol and pour on a rag. Hold rag on the child's hot spots ie: groin, underarm. As the rag gets hot add more alcohol to cool. I have done this and it does work. I usually can bring down a fever 1 degree in about 40 minutes maybe less depending. Blessings, Doreen asd 12, scd day 31 Re: week 9-Kathy Hi Kathy, Gosh, that's a high temperature. Our son rarely develops a high fever even with an ear infection. Maybe he has a bad immune system, I don't know. At 103+ temp you really do need to give something to bring it down and probably reduce the body aches. You know what, I don't think this is die-off. After reading a bunch of posts, I don't remember anyone saying their child had a fever that high from die-off. Maybe one of the moderators or someone with a similar experience can help you with this one. Can you give her some olive leaf extract to help her immune system??? It really seems that she has some viral or bacterial infection. Did your doctor draw some blood to find out if she has an increase in white blood cells? That should give you a clue as to whether she has a bacterial infection or not. Also if you can get the ear drops called Mullein Ear Drops (make sure they don't have thimerosol in them) then you can apply them to her ear to be sure she doesn't get an ear infection. Dana from another list mentioned that her kids got ear infection from an overgrowth of yeast and that she used garlic drops to stop those infections. Gosh, no wonder she has dark circles under her eyes, she's been brewing some kind of bug and it sounds either viral or bacterial. Are the kids in her school getting sick also? Hope I'm not asking too many questions, I'm just trying to help and brainstorm with you. I hope she feels better soon. Isn't amazing how our own feeling of well-being is so tied with our kid's feelings. Both of you take care, Becky in Chesapeake, VA > Hi Becky, Well as for now she doesn't have an ear infection but they are > retracted, whatever that means.
