T3 - 125 (60-181)

Free T3 - 4.6 (2.4-4.2) High

Free T4 - 1.0 (0.9 - 1.8)

TSH - 0.13 (0.35 - 5.50) Low

Ferritin - 40 (10 - 291) Have been taking a lot of iron

Estradiol - 43 (50 - 240)

Estrone - 53 ( < 200)

Progesterone - 9.6 (4.1 - 23.7)

Testosterone - 75 (20-75)

Reverse T3 - 161 (90 - 350)

OK I see some conflicts here. First your T3/RT3 ratio is good. Your Ferritin of

course, needs to come up higher still adn may be causing symptoms still at this

level. Have you had it tested before and that was why you are taking iron? Is it

coming up since last testing? BOTH Progesterone and Estradiol are low. It is

unusual to have low estradiol with low cortisol and coul dmean you are taking

too much HC still. How is your BP? And are you graphing your temps?

Ferritin came down, from 41, despite taking more iron. I now try to get in 2 -

28 mg. pills per day.

My bp - the bottom number usually rises, but the top number falls.

My temps. are kind of crazy, though I haven't done the three day charting yet.

But sometimes I'll take it once and five minutes later it's a different temp. -

don't know if that indicates anything.

The last few nights (even after reducing my Cytomel from 32.5 mcg. to 25 mcg.)

I feel hyper, with racing heart and high temps. It got up to 100.1 last night

and right now it's 99.7. I have no clue what is going on!

Is it strange that they only happen at night, or would T3 maybe be peaking then?

I take my last dose of thyroid usually at 3:30.

It could be you are getting hypo at night! T3 in healthy people peaks near

midnight, so a bedtime dose might helpo stop this.

I'm a little confused......if I'm having these hyper symptoms at night, why

would I take more T3 at night?

Oh my goodness, Val - this is complicated (for me)!

So if I am taking 1 grain Westhroid and 30 mcg. Cytomel, do you have a

recommendation for a dosing schedule to avoid the problems at night? Here's

what I'm doing right now:

7:30 - 7.5 mg. HC; 0.5 mg. Florinef; 1/2 grain W.T.; 12.5 mcg. Cytomel

11:30 - 7.5 mg. HC; 1/2 grain W.T.; 7.5 mcg. Cytomel

3:30 - 5 mg. HC; 5 mcg. Cytomel

Bedtime - 2.5 mg. HC

Very simple move to 4 even doses of Cytomel throughout the day say 7 am, Noon,

5PM and Bedtime. Each dose 7.5mcg.

ok, and one more question before I make that change.

If I'm become Hypo at night and that's the reason for the high temps. and

jitttery feeling, why are my labs for T3 showing it over the top of the range

(testing done more than 12 hours after my last T3 dose)?

On this dose of thyroid it is literally impossible to be hyperthyroid. High T3

labs would indicate low cortisol. In other words all the htyroid in your blood

gives you afdrenal stress btu without enough cortiosl it is not getting to the

cells ot cause true hyperthyroid. Evening the dose out reduces adrenal stress.

Hopefully this will help more of the thyroid to get to the cells to actually

work rather than sittin g in thew blood causeing bad symptoms.

So, would this explain why (even though some of the " hyper " symptoms have gone

away with the lower dosages of T3) some of my other symptoms that I had prior to

treatment, that had gone away at the higher doses of T3, are now back?

Yes. Holding at the lower dose till some cortiosl reserves are built is what I

would do in this situation or raise HC.

I just wonder why every time I've tried to raise to 25 mg. HC (tried it three

times now, at varying dosages of thyroid), I have horrendous symptoms. It's

such a dramatic change that it's hard to comprehend.

The first time I tried it I wasn't taking any thyroid meds., the second time I

don't remember for sure but it was less than this last time, which was 1 grain

of Westhroid and 32.5 mcg. of Cytomel.

And it will change this much with just a 2.5 mg. increase??

My dosing HC went from:

7.5-7.5-5-52.5

to

10-7.5-5.2.5

And then all these crazy symptoms. I thought that was a good rhythm?

I did already go back to that level about a week ago. And what is weird is that

this is when the worst jitteriness and high temps at night happened, after that

change.

So the current HC rhtyhm I'm on in addition to spreading out the thyroid

dosages evenly over the day will take care of the ACTH suppression? Am I

understading correctly?

I know it is not much of a change, but YES even a small cahnge if it supresses

ACTH too much can do this. I would go to 7.5 - 7.5 - 5 - 5
