Guest guest
With readings that high consider going to the ER. You are really placing your life in jeopardy with BG levels that high. I am not a doctor and only know what I would do. Think of it this way, your blood is now very thick at 500+. When BGL are high and the risk of stroke and heart problems rise exponentially.. Fasting was HI ! My meter says thats over 500. I tried my friends meter and tonight it was 765. That was before i ate dinner. For dinner i had 3 eggs. I called my HMO and they told me to come in on Monday. I currently take 1 15 mg of Actos and 1 750 Metformin XL twice a day. THIS IS WHAT MY DR CALLS AGRESSIVE TREATMENT. If I took 45 mg of Actos a day and took 2 metformins XL will my numbers come down before Monday?? I feel fine. Thanks for any suggestions. Guest guest
Barry, I would be very concerned with a BG that high that you really need to go to the hospital and have them bring it down. I really don't know if your meds will be sufficient because this is such an individual disease. Your meds may be fine for you but would be detrimental for me. I know that when my friend's BGs go into the 400s she is supposed to go to the hospital, but she also has other health problems. I would call your doctor back and ask him or if there is more than one dr. talk to the doctor on call.. See what he says. If you talked to your doctor before than maybe it's okay... (office staff doesn't count). I would definitely test more frequently. Unless the dosage was increased, I would probably say not..they might come down some...but I could be wrong. Guest guest
Keep us posted, Barry. I hope they get bgs down soon...that is way way too high! Sounds like your aggressive treatment isn't as aggressive as it needs to be. 40 lashes with a wet noodle to your doc. Hehe. Tam --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Before you realize it you could pass out and coma or convultions are no fun. Call your doctor ASAP or get yourself to the emergency room.
