Guest guest
If you swallow the Armour, do it on an empty stomach. (so four hours after eating and /or one hour before). To prevent binding with Calcium and iron that may be in the food that you ate as well as to prevent the pill getting mixed in with the food and not dissolving properly. But, if you take the Armour sublingually, under your tongue. You can do it right after eating... or you can eat as soon as the tablet is dissolved. Splitting the tab, exposing the inside of the pill, will allow it to dissolve faster. The enteric coating makes it dissolve too slow otherwise. Which ever method you chose. Do it the same way every time. To be consistent with how you dose will mean that the dose your body receives will also be more consistent. You see, nearly 100% of the hormone enters your blood stream when you dose sublingually, but as little as 50% enters your blood when you swallow it. This works with all glandulars. I take 1 grain of armour(generic) at 6 am.I then have a cup of coffee around 7:15 am and then eat around 8-9 am.At this time I take 1 selenium and 1 b-complex vitamin.I am on low carb high protein diet. I need to take a total of 3 grains a day in split doses. And I need to eat,but how far apart should I be taking meds and then eating.I dont eat after 8 pm at night. Guest guest
Hi Mari, I agree with Topper on how to take the Armour. Take it sublingual and you shouldn't have any problems. As for schedules, I take it upon waking, when I first get to work, break, lunch, break, leaving work, dinner and bedtime. I take my vitamins/minerals with food so that the vitamins are absorbed right along with the food, and the food slows down the absorbtion rate a bit. Guest guest
I take Thyroid-S which has done wonders for me.I also take a B complex vitamin,Selenium, and Isocort. I usually take the Thyroid-S and Isocort sublingilly and atleast 1-2 hours before I eat. Then I take the Selenium and B complex with food. Should I take the Selenium with the Thyroid-S ??? Or does it matter ??? Mari
Guest guest
Selenium is a mineral and should be taken with food... vitamins and minerals should be taken with food... they combine with the elements of the food that we eat to produce what our bodies need to thrive. Taking a vitamin on an empty stomach does about the same good for your body as dropping the pill in the toilet and flushing. If you are taking your glandulars (thyroid and adrenal) sublingually, you can eat as soon as the tablets have dissolved. The hormones are going directly into your blood stream by way of the capillaries under your tongue, so they aren't affected by what you have in your stomach. You do still need to keep calcium and iron doses away from you thyroid dose. Guest guest
Do avoid taking the selenium with vitamin c, they react.
