Guest guest
Kathy, what do you mean by "my thyroid is back"? Are you referring to hormone levels have improved or that the gland itself has enlarged or??? As you've been going through your treatment for lyme, what thyroid tests have they been running? Guest guest
IV Rocephin, IV glutathione (not an antibiotic, an immune builder). Before that BIAXIN to kill of mycoplasma and various anti fungals such as Diflucan. On my lyme list most of the people had bad thyroids, and on MEDLINE there is articles that Borrelia can attack the thyroid (not to mention the thymus and adrenals). Sometimes people have Rickesettia and protozoal infections and there are meds for that too. Why not test for it, BUT DO IT THE ONLY WAY THAT COUNTS, not, the kind of test where you ask your doctor, give me a lyme test. The usual typical lyme test in the doctors office offered by the CDC is bogus. Do only three labs of choice, ie STONYBROOK or IGENEX (www.igenex.com ) or BOWEN. Also they may have you do Medical Diagnostic Labs for mycoplasma. I recommend personally IGENEX, do the IgG and IgM test, get back to me, and can already tell you, you have lyme. I will put money on it LOL...It is becoming an epidemic, no, more than that, pandemic. HUSH HUSH stuff going on, just like our kids with autism vaccine injured, and also lyme positive. Typically the viruses, bacteria and stealth pathogens love to mess with the metabolic system, and the target of choice is THE THYROID. I got on the list to tell you all this, because frankly, it is easy to reach for bandaids, when their is a reason why these things go off. And yes, I have posted, get the amalgams out, get your selenium and iodine up, don't to fluoride (reverse osmose water), and make sure you have done a bit of chelation and are on good diets, usually no milk or wheat. Also, my chiropracter adjusted me for over half a year, and this really helped my immune system as I feel thyroid HT is autoimmune problems. Kathy Fw: [EuroLyme] Re: HYPOTHYROID and LYME/ Hi Kathy,I don't mean to be too nosey.... However, this idea and possibility intrigues me. Would you mind telling me what antibiotics you have been taking for treatment of your Lyme disease? What else are you taking? Thanks for educating me…Gossimer> > > > My thyroid is functioning normally, and I feel one hundred times > better> > > > Kathy> > > > On Tue, 14 Dec 2004 19:03:16 -0800 "JAMES BLANCO" <kblanco1@m...> > writes:> > heed this advice, I have lyme and HT. Guest guest
Hashimoto's Disease IS autoimmune disease, as in Antithyroidperoxidase Antibodies and Antithyroglobulin Antibodies. They are DIFFERENT antibodies than those in Lyme Disease, although I know that there are myriads of causes of hypothyroidism and thyroid antibodies, including a particular chromosome being involved (and one in Grave's Disease also), and yes, probably Lyme and diseases like it that "hide" in the body for long periods of time without being discovered. Hepatitis is another example of this too. Myriads of diseases causing other diseases. In Hashimoto's, once damage is done to certain parts of the thyroid, it cannot be repaired. As slow as doctors are at getting around to diagnosing it, plus their lack of knowledge of it, there's usually already going to be damage by this time. You can't magically repair the parts that are permanently damaged in Hashimoto's, plus advising people with this particular form of the disease to take iodine, is hazardous. Iodine to these types of antibodies is "food" for them to flourish on. Contrary to popular belief, iodine is not lacking in the foods we have in our country, it's in so many different things, including junk food, that it's mind boggling to think about it. The antibodies of Hashi's go after the iodine like a trooper, causing further destruction of the thyroid at an accelerated rate, and it is detrimental to a person. Thyroid hormone is made out of iodine molecules, so you get the picture here. Also, Biaxin is one of the antibiotics that almost ripped my intestines out, as many of them do me that way. These types of sensitivities are usually across the board in adrenally depleted people, so therefore, in chronically hypothyroid people.
