I get fast and extremely regular say around 150 bpm. Is

this my heart or could it be the propafenone? I take 300mg

twice a day. I also have slow and irregular say 47 bpm but

I am also blessed with sinus rhythm too. Any insights?

These are all good questions for your Cardiologist. I do know that most Dr's

won't prescribe propafenone to anyone with heart disease because it can cause

ventricular fibrilation (not good). Atrial flutter is high rate and steady, I

think.

Hello,

Thanks to and for a nice concise description of

flutter and Afib ablations. When it comes down to it

though, no matter how many things are in the pro or con

column, one still has to make a decision. Since reading

everyone's stories for the last couple of months, I have

swung back and forth - yes, ablation good, no- ablation

not worth it. The success stories buoy me up for it, then

the really bad experiences make me want to run for the

hills.

Germaine - Lately I've been experiencing something similar. Just a

short time ago I checked my blood pressure and it showed a heart rate

of 152 and regular. Noticed the beeps toward the end were changing,

so tried it again. This time, slow and mostly steady with what I

hope were a few ectopics. Rate was 67. That's happened twice (that

I know of) in the last 2 days. I do not take the med you mentioned.

I'm on cardizem and enalapril.
