Hi e,

Thank you so much! It's nice to hear a supportive voice!

Actually I wasn't very upset about 's responce, sad to say, but I expected much worse! I have decided to stay away from the shower this weekend; no one is worth upsetting our child!

Whew! I'm glad that everything turned out to be alright... I have a girlfriend who is pregnant and taking progesterone and she has had occasional bleeding. The OB/GYN says her cervix is especially sensitive and the progesterone acts as an irritant, thus causing the bleeding.

Anyway, I'm happy all is well!

Hi ,

Thanks for telling me about your friend, it's nice to know that I'm not alone! I've actually been doing very well the past two days, I went back on the Crinone and haven't had any bleeding or irritation. I guess the pharmacy made suppository was just too rough for me.

Thanks for the good wishes!

How are you doing? You must be getting so excited! Emma Grace will be here before you know!

I glad everything went so well. I know the glucose test isn't so bad, after all I've done it enough times. It use to be worse, they use to draw blood before the drink and then an hour after the drink. So consider yourself lucky. Things improve all the time.

update

Hi all. I had a dr apt yesturday. I had the glucose test and an internal exam. Everything seems fine. I get the glucose test results in a couple of days. I don't know why I was worried about the orange drink...it tasted like Sunkist Pop..which was very refreshing since it is so hot out! The exam was really quick and my cervix is nice and closed.I did ask about my belly button. Basically, it is stretching..and my dr doesn't think it is from my lap (I still question that). He said I can even get some tingling and numbness in that area and it is common, it is just a real sensitive area. I go back in 3 weeks and then every 2 weeks after that. I thought I would only see him every 3 weeks until the last month so I am feeling better about his care!27 Weeks

Hi ,

I am interested in alternative medicine and the things you've

done to keep your thyroid. I have Graves' and my daughter too, but we

have not had any treatment yet. Please tell us what is possible.

Thanks,

ps, I'm so far behind on reading the posts, you may have already

answered this for someone else. If so, thanks.

Hi --

I see that I no longer have my standard " here's what I did " post (must've

lost that when my computer crashed a few months ago). Try this first: go to

http://ithyroid.com and look under TED stories. There you'll find the

things I did initally.

Since then, I have remained under the care of acupuncturist and homeopath

and I have altered my diet pretty dramatically; I also take some of hte

supplements recommended on ithyroid.com. If you start taking all those

supplements, check with your doctor first!

Let me know if you have more questions,

B

Amy H.,

You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers sweetie. I'm sure the other ladies that have been through IVF will be a good source of information for you. We are all here for you and wishing you the best.

update

Ladies,Here is an update on what is going on with me. I finally have seen AF which will finally start the cycle for IVF. I guess in about 2 1/2 weeks the shots will start. I am so ready to begin... As you know I was supposed to start them at the end of May and the IVF lab will be closed when I would have done the retrieval and transfer. I am now out of work ( I am a school social worker) and my only priority this summer is getting pregnant. Please say a prayer for me and my DH Dirk. I know that they help. I want to follow in all of your footsteps... You give me a lot of hope, especially those who have had IVF. We are going to Seattle on Tues. and can't wait. We live in Indiana and are looking forward to seeing another part of the country. I thought that I should post to let you know I am still around and I read all the posts. I hope that soon I will have more to join in with. Have a great weekend all you wonderful ladies. I know that coming here will only help my chances of becoming pg. (they have done studies that confirm that). Take care!Amy H.(the "other" Amy, or another Amy in this group)_________________________________________________________________Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Elaine, my other kids are getting really excited. My youngest keep asking

when is ph coming out? My oldest (8 1/2) says Mom you look so

uncomfortable like you are going to pop already! She may be right on this

one. My mobility is absolutely shot at this point. I can hardly walk up

and down stairs and shopping is just about out of the question. Being this

is my fifth pregnancy in nine years my body is pooped out. No one is

looking forward more to the babe's birth more than me, I am even willing to

go through pain of delivery. That is why I never took meds or epidurals

because I figured the pain of a few hours is nothing compared to the tough

months of pregnancy. Here's to another day down and another day closer!!!

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts from everyone.. I.

Tyra I am so excited at the doors that have opened for you. I can't imagine anyone more deserving of recognition or accolades than you. You have faced difficult challenges head on, and continue to fight a strong fight, and yet you are a warm, kind, caring person filled with the intelligence and the desire to do something extreme with your life. And I KNOW you will do it! There is a reason you're still with us and you've won so many battles. You are an exceptional person and there are terrific things in your future. I'm proud to be a part of your life and a part of your future.

Do great things with your life and recognize that you are indeed a special person!

Update

Just a quick little update:

Went out on the date with the younger man… and a good time, a REALLY good time, we’ve been out 3 times since. *sigh*

I’ve lost 5 pounds….. Must have been due to the fact that I have to climb all those damn stairs a school;

And I’m teaching a class…I’m in charge of young minds, can you believe that… scary but true, God help them… I hope I don’t warp them too much.

..

Medically… everything is great, my 4 year anniversary was on he 14th… we celebrated with carrot cake and a movie… and finally I can stay away from the transplant clinic for 6 months at a time it I am good have labs every 3 months..

Was notified today that I won the OpenFirst scholarship… they want to do the whole thing press, pictures…. Now I have to wear a dress… ugh…

I’m attaching the questions; apparently they really liked what I had to say:

Please tell us about your career goals?

After I complete my bachelor’s degree at, my immediate plans are to attend law school. I’ve always been interested in the complexity of computers and the Internet; whenever there is a technology that is constantly being improved upon, loopholes appear and problems begin to occur I want to focus my career in that area, I suppose that’s where my interest in cyber law and policy came from. I feel that direction would be a good way to go while enabling me to use my business and IT skills.

What has been the most difficult challenge you have faced in your life and how did you overcome it?

The most difficult challenge that I’ve face in my life thus far would be my autoimmune illness and my subsequent liver transplant. It’s a shock for anyone to be told that they are critically ill, but the shock is compounded ten-fold when you’re 20 years old and feel like your life has just begun and the world is at your fingertips. That time of my life was extremely difficult to handle mainly because I don’t think that I was equipped with the coping skills that I needed to get through something like that, I had never had an experience that came close to what I was dealing with that’s why I’m so grateful for the support system that I had. It’s amazing to me to see how people have supported me and keep me on track. My life is a lot different now than it was before I got sick. Most of the time I feel like I’m catching up because I spent the last 5 years working on getting healthy and trying to establish some normalcy in my life.

When I tell people about my illness the response is usually “it’s so unfortunate that you’ve had to go through so much at a young age.” A few years ago I probably would have agreed with that statement; now I feel differently although it was a very difficult time for myself as well as my family I would not trade that time in my life for anything; in a very odd way I see my illness as a blessing; it’s made me learn so much about myself and who I am as a person. I took that time to reflect on what I wanted to do with my life and how I planned on achieving those goals. I came out of the situation a better person because of the inner transformation that has shaped the person that I am today. I’m more focused and determined than I was before I became ill. I don’t take anything for granted anymore, which is why my education has become my number one priority at this point in my life. I feel like my transplant and my illness was not my life just small parts in a long extraordinary life, now I’m ready to face new challenges and seize the opportunities that are ahead.

What is your most positive trait and what is the trait that you feel needs development. How have these characteristics influenced your life?

I feel my most positive trait would be determination, as I mentioned above I was able to come out of a very challenging experience in my life more determined to pursue my goals. I’ve become more of a go-getter now than I ever was before, I know what I want and now I’m able to create a plan of action that will allow me to purse my goals.

A trait of mine that I feel needs more development would defiantly be my indecisiveness. I am the first one to say that I am a very cerebral person and there have been times when too much thinking has resulted in lost opportunities. It’s very difficult for me to get out of your head and make a decision, because I have to analyze everything, I often weigh the pros and cons before I can come to a decision that I am comfortable with.

That’s pretty much it… I gave you all the quick update… sorry I haven’t been more active but school is in full swing and I’m starting to feel a bit overwhelmed.

Tyra
