Yesterday was kind of strange. I felt real lethargic most of the afternoon,

which I attributed to my lowered HR (Betapace) This was before I went down to

the show last evening) About 8 last evening that feeling left me & I've felt

good since - including today (so far) My at rest HR is a little higher (mid

60's). The Betapace is new to me - from all the posts I've seen the last several

months it apparently is tolerated well by some & not by others. Is what I've

experienced thus far typical of what some you have experienced on Betapace ?

Hello, Thor,

What dosage of Betapace are you on? I went from Toprol XL (that I was

absolutely miserable on; spacey, ears ringing, lethargic) to Sotalol and felt a

little lethargic the first couple of weeks but nothing like the Toprol. You

could be feeling lethargic from the beta blocker in Betapace until your body

adjusts to it. I feel totally normal now and I am very sensitive to

medications. I am thinking that those who had problems with Sotalol did not

take it long enough to get past the adjustment period. Good luck

I was on Sotalol for 6 months and didn't adjust to it. My cardio

kept telling me I would get use to it but I didn't. And I've been on

beta blockers before, Inderal for one and a few I can't remember,

during the last 20 years and they never bothered me like the Sotalol

did. I was on 320mg's a day and it was ineffective in keeping me in

NSR. I have been on a lot of heart meds starting in 1983 and in my

experience Sotalol has been the worst.

Hi Loretta...

I took Betapace for 8 months..frankly I would rather have A-Fib...On

Betapace I was exhausted, with tightness in my chest, dizziness..I

felt horrible, my cardiologist kept saying for the first few months

to give it a chance. Plus I was having episodes every 8 to 10 days.

I started taking flecainide, 100 mg x twice daily, and digoxin.

I felt better immediately, I still have episodes every 8 to 10 days

and convert on my own..It seems a-fib has a life of it's own, when

it is time for an episode, it doesn't need a trigger. It seems to

build up, go crazy, then I'm okay again. I have noticed with

flecainide, I have nutty dreams, totally off the wall. But on my

worst day, so far, ( fingers crossed) I feel better than I did

for 8 months on Betapace. This is just my experience, but I did

give it a chance...Thanks for listening..Marie 66 Pacific Northwest
